The short answer: the Punggol LRT is a 10.3km driverless light rail system with two loops that both start and end at Punggol MRT station in the Town Centre. The East Loop has seven stations (PE1 to PE7) and the West Loop has seven (PW1 to PW7). Trains run in both directions on each loop, so you can always choose the shorter way round.

How the Loops Work
Both loops begin and end at Punggol station, which is also the North-East Line MRT station. Since 2011 on the East Loop and 2018 on the West Loop, trains run in both directions. That matters: if your stop is PE7 Damai, taking the anticlockwise train can be much quicker than riding all the way round.
