Teck Lee is now a work-and-campus station
JTC’s current Punggol Digital District directions identify Teck Lee as the West Loop LRT stop for the district. SIT likewise lists the station as a walking option to its Punggol Campus via covered linkways and Campus Boulevard.
This gives PW2 a very different rhythm from a purely residential LRT station. Weekday foot traffic is shaped by students, staff and workers as well as residents. The district is designed to be car-lite, so walking, cycling and public transport are part of the intended daily system rather than an afterthought.
Punggol Coast MRT changes the calculation
Teck Lee is not the only rail door into this area. Punggol Coast MRT (NE18) sits directly inside the Digital District and at SIT’s doorstep. For many city-bound commuters, the North East Line is therefore more direct than taking the LRT back to Punggol interchange first.
