SIT Punggol Campus is one of the projects that changes Punggol from a residential town into a place where people can also study, work, research and build companies. Singapore Institute of Technology’s main campus is now at 1 Punggol Coast Road, Singapore 828608, inside Punggol Digital District. SIT currently states that all five academic clusters and the university’s corporate office are housed at Punggol Campus, with the main exception of its Culinary Institute of America programmes at Temasek Polytechnic.
For Punggol residents, the campus matters even if nobody in the household studies at SIT. Thousands of students and staff change weekday transport, food demand, retail, internships, community projects and the identity of the northern town. For students and parents, the campus is unusual because it is directly integrated with an operating digital business district rather than separated from industry by a long commute.

Punggol Coast MRT is the front door
SIT’s current campus information says Punggol Coast MRT is located at the doorstep of the campus, with Exit 1 providing direct access.
This is the simplest route for most students travelling from outside northern Punggol because the North-East Line ends directly inside the district.

Bus interchange
The Punggol Coast Bus Interchange sits adjacent to the campus. SIT’s current campus page lists Services 34 and 117/117M among direct routes, while the wider northern network also includes newer services added after the interchange opened.

Teck Lee LRT
SIT currently describes Teck Lee LRT as within walking distance via covered linkways and Campus Boulevard. This is especially useful for residents already on Punggol’s West Loop.
Driving: possible, but not the campus design priority
SIT repeatedly describes the Punggol campus as part of a car-lite district. Parking is limited compared with a conventional suburban campus, and public transport is strongly encouraged.
That matters for parents attending open house, graduation or events: do not assume unlimited visitor parking because the campus is in a newer district.
The campus is divided into Campus Court and Campus Heart
The campus is large and uses its own block/building language. Students should learn the wayfinding system early rather than assuming “SIT Punggol” is one building.
At a high level, the campus includes:

- bridges and pedestrian links to PDD.
Ngee Ann Kongsi Library
SIT’s current facilities page places the Ngee Ann Kongsi Library at Campus Heart, W1, Level 5. SIT describes it as an e-preferred library, with 99% of resources available online.
The library belongs to the university environment and should not be confused with the public Punggol Regional Library at One Punggol.

Foodgle Hub
SIT currently lists Foodgle Hub at Campus Court as one of the campus food-court anchors. It provides a student-priced everyday meal layer inside the university rather than forcing every lunch into Punggol Coast Mall.
Wholesome by Food Canopy
Wholesome by Food Canopy at Campus Heart gives SIT another food-court environment positioned around healthier/inclusive dining. Current published hours differ between weekdays and Saturdays, with Sunday/public-holiday closure.

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre
Students also have Punggol Coast Hawker Centre within the wider district. JTC currently describes it as an active hawker centre with 40 stalls.
This gives the campus district an unusually wide price range: university food courts, hawker food, mall restaurants and cafés all sit within walking distance.
Gym, studios and student activity facilities
SIT’s current facilities page lists multiple gyms, studios, club rooms and a bouldering enclave, as well as student lounges and activity spaces.
The campus is therefore designed for a full university day rather than simply lectures followed by immediate departure.
End-of-trip facilities
SIT encourages cycling and active mobility. Current campus information describes dedicated bicycle/PMD parking and End-of-Trip facilities including lockers, toilets and showers across the campus.
That connects naturally with Punggol’s cycling network and PDD’s car-lite design.
Why SIT and Punggol Digital District were planned together
SIT is not merely a university located beside an office park. JTC and SIT describe the campus and PDD as deliberately integrated so students, researchers and companies can share infrastructure, projects, talent and technology.
PDD’s target sectors include:
- cybersecurity;
- artificial intelligence;
- robotics;
- fintech;
- digital technology and related sectors.
For students, the promise is that industry is not a distant internship destination—it can be physically next door.
What this means for Punggol residents
- more weekday footfall in northern Punggol;
- more food and retail demand;
- more public transport demand at Punggol Coast;
- university-community projects;
- more student and worker use of public spaces;
- jobs and education closer to home for some households.
What this means for secondary-school families
Living near a university can make higher education less abstract. But parents should not turn SIT’s presence into premature course pressure.
The better use is exposure:
- open houses;
- public district events;
- technology exhibitions;
- community programmes;
- understanding applied-degree pathways.
The student still needs to choose a post-secondary route based on strengths and interests, not because one university is nearby.
SIT is not the only post-secondary route from Punggol
A Punggol student may still be better suited to another university, JC, Polytechnic or ITE course elsewhere in Singapore. Geography can reduce friction but should not replace programme fit.

For parents visiting campus
- use Punggol Coast MRT where possible;
- check event-specific access instructions;
- do not assume parking is abundant;
- learn the building/block number before arrival;
- allow extra walking time across campus;
- eat inside campus/PDD rather than travelling back to Waterway Point automatically.
For new students
- learn your academic cluster building;
- save the campus wayfinder;
- find the library before assignment season;
- know two food options at different price points;
- test the home-to-campus commute during morning peak;
- join campus activities rather than treating university as only class attendance;
- use PDD as part of the learning environment.
Punggol Campus and community access
Some district spaces are public; some campus facilities are intended for SIT students/staff or authorised users. Respect access controls. A university campus inside a public district does not make every classroom, library desk or club room an unrestricted public facility.
The campus will continue changing
PDD and SIT are still maturing. More companies, retail, events and partnerships will change the daily feel of the campus district. Treat 2026 as a live snapshot rather than the final form.
