The short answer: Punggol Coast (NE18) is the newest station and the northern end of the North-East Line. It opened on 10 December 2024, sits underground in the heart of the Punggol Digital District, and connects through Punggol Coast Mall to the air-conditioned Punggol Coast Bus Interchange. It has two entrances, one inside the Digital District and SIT campus and one along New Punggol Road, plus more than 300 bicycle parking lots. From here, Outram Park is about 45 minutes away.
For years, living in north Punggol meant a bus or LRT ride just to reach the train. Punggol Coast changed that. If you live in Northshore or around the Digital District, study at SIT, or work in the new business park, this is now your front door to the rest of Singapore. Here is how to use it well.

Punggol Coast or Punggol MRT: Which Should You Use?
Both stations are on the North-East Line, one stop apart. The right one depends on where you start.
- Use Punggol Coast if you live in Northshore, around the Digital District or near Teck Lee, or if you are heading to SIT, Punggol Coast Mall or the new hawker centre.
- Use Punggol MRT if you live near the Town Centre, or along the LRT loops closer to Waterway Point.
- Good to know: because Punggol Coast is the terminus, you usually get a seat when boarding here in the morning.

Entrances and Connections
- Digital District and SIT entrance: for the SIT Punggol campus, the business park and Punggol Coast Mall.
- New Punggol Road entrance: for residents walking in from the surrounding estates.
- Punggol Coast Mall link: the station connects through the mall to Punggol Coast Bus Interchange, so you can change from train to bus under cover.
- Covered linkways: lead to nearby bus stops, taxi stands and pick-up and drop-off points.
Resident tip: station layouts and signs are the final word. When in doubt, follow the overhead signs for “Bus Interchange” or “Punggol Coast Mall”.
Punggol Coast Bus Interchange
The air-conditioned Punggol Coast Bus Interchange opened on 29 June 2025 at 1 Sentul Walk. Together with the station and the mall, it forms the Punggol Coast Integrated Transport Hub. Cycling to the Station
With more than 300 bicycle parking lots, Punggol Coast is one of the easiest stations in Singapore to reach by bike. Many residents cycle along the park connectors, lock up and ride the train into town. Bring a proper lock and take removable lights with you.
A Small Thing Worth Noticing
Look out for Trajectories by artist Zul Othman, part of the MRT network’s Art-in-Transit programme. It traces Punggol’s past, present and future through his own memories of exploring the area’s old tracks and forests as a teenager. It is a lovely thing to point out to children on the way home.
