The short answer: the Punggol Digital District (PDD) is a 50-hectare business, university and community district in northern Punggol, next to Punggol Coast MRT. It is home to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) campus, Punggol Coast Mall and Punggol Coast Hawker Centre, offices for tech and finance employers, and green spaces such as Campus Boulevard and the Punggol Heritage Trail. It is expected to create about 28,000 jobs.

Singapore Institute of Technology
SIT’s centralised campus opened in September 2024. Parts of it are open to the public, including the striking red pedestrian bridge and campus food spots on weekdays. Punggol Coast Mall
Opened in 2025 and linked to SIT’s campus. Expect everyday dining, wellness and learning centres, and a supermarket that bills itself as the world’s first generative-AI-powered supermarket, with smart trolleys that help you find products.

Campus Boulevard and the Heritage Trail
Campus Boulevard is an 800m pedestrian street running through the district. The first 400m of the Punggol Heritage Trail opened in August 2025 along the old line of Punggol Road, with the full trail expected by the end of 2026.
Who Works There?
Major tenants include GovTech, OCBC and UOB, alongside robotics and technology companies. The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore is expected to move in by 2027. Reports say about 65% of office space has been leased.
What Makes It “Smart”?
The district runs on an Open Digital Platform that uses data and machine learning to manage buildings, for example adjusting lighting and air-conditioning based on how many people are in a space. Buildings also use solar panels, rainwater systems and plenty of greenery. It is a real-world case study in sustainability that secondary school Geography and Science students can visit in person.
