Bicycle Shops and Bike Repairs in Punggol

Running and cycling path at Punggol Waterway Park beside Waterway Point

For a bicycle shop Punggol riders can reach easily, there are two verified names: Bike Stop @ SAFRA Punggol at 9 Sentul Crescent, which repairs and hires bikes from Friday to Sunday, and Decathlon at Waterway Point and Northshore. Decathlon says its stores offer bicycle servicing, but call your branch first.

A squeaky brake or a flat tyre rarely picks a convenient day, so it helps to know which doors are open when.

This page is part of eduKate Punggol’s Essential Information for Punggol, our quick answers and where-to-go lists for everyday life in Punggol. It lists the bike shops we could verify, their days and hours, what to ask before you hand over your bike, and the special rules for e-bike repairs.

Quick answer

  • Walk-in repairs: Bike Stop @ SAFRA Punggol, 9 Sentul Crescent, #01-04A. Friday to Sunday 9am–8pm; Tuesdays and public holidays by appointment; closed Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tel 9830 3117.
  • Bikes, parts and servicing: Decathlon Waterway Point and Decathlon Northshore. Decathlon says its stores offer “bicycle servicing and repairs” but does not say which ones, so call first.
  • Prices: we found no published repair prices for either shop. Ask for a quote before any work starts.
  • E-bikes: changes to the battery, motor, wiring or frame are generally not allowed, and tampering with the LTA seal is an offence.
  • Late at night: we found no 24-hour bike repair in Punggol.

Where to Find a Bicycle Shop in Punggol

Punggol has fewer bike shops than you might expect for such a cycling-friendly town. These are the ones we could confirm on an official page in October 2026, plus the inspection centres e-bike owners need to know about.

Hours checked October 2026 — confirm on the official page before you go. The Decathlon Waterway Point unit and hours come from a mall directory rather than Decathlon itself, so check live.

A word on older listings. Guides from 2017 to 2021 mention bike rental and repair shops such as Bikes @ Waterway at SAFRA Punggol, GoCycling at Punggol Jetty, Jomando at The Punggol Settlement and Wheeelers at Marina Country Club. We could not confirm any of them is still trading. Punggol Point Park has also been closed since 11 August 2026, so anything listed at Punggol Point or the jetty needs a live check.

Which Shop Fits Your Problem

A flat tyre or loose brake at the weekend

Bike Stop is open for walk-in repairs from Friday to Sunday. It is also a pleasant place to wait, right by the water.

A problem in the middle of the week

Bike Stop is closed on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and Tuesday visits need an appointment by phone. Otherwise, call Decathlon to ask whether the store’s workshop can take your bike that day.

A full service or tune-up

Decathlon’s “Bike Service” covers rider position, steering, wheels, brakes and drivetrain, with parts “tightened and adjusted”. It also lists a bike reconditioning service pack and a repair package. Prices and booking are not on those pages, so ask in store.

A first bike for a child or a returning adult

Decathlon Waterway Point sells bikes, so you can compare sizes in person. Our guides to learning to ride in Punggol and learning to cycle as an adult help with the next step.

An e-bike that needs work

Ask the shop, before any work begins, whether the repair touches the battery, motor, controller, wiring or frame. Those changes are generally not allowed unless covered by the bike’s original EN15194 testing, and the LTA seal must stay intact.

Your bike is in the shop but you still want to ride

Bike Stop hires bikes as well as fixing them. A shared bike from an app is the other option.

How to Get Your Bike Repaired, Step by Step

  1. Do a quick check at home. Our bicycle maintenance guide walks through brakes and tyres, and some problems turn out to be a pump away from fixed.
  2. Call ahead. Check the shop is open and can take your bike that day, especially midweek.
  3. Describe the problem clearly. When does the noise happen? When did it start? Did anything knock the bike?
  4. Ask for the price and timing before work starts. We found no published repair prices, so a quote avoids surprises.
  5. For an e-bike, protect the seal. Agree in advance that nothing will be done that breaks the LTA seal or alters the battery or motor.
  6. Keep the bike legal. On paths, a bicycle may weigh up to 20 kg and be up to 70 cm wide, with at least one working handbrake. On roads, the limits are 130 cm wide and 260 cm long. New handlebars or racks should keep you within them.
  7. Test before you ride home. Squeeze both brakes, spin the wheels and take a short loop near the shop.

What to Bring

  • Your bike, plus its lock and key, so it can be secured while it waits.
  • Any spare parts you have already bought, so the shop can check they fit.
  • Your receipt or warranty card if the bike is new.
  • For an e-bike, its registration details and plate, and the charger if the problem is battery-related.

Costs, and the Rules for E-Bike Repairs

Neither Bike Stop nor Decathlon publishes repair prices on the pages we checked, so ask for a quote. Bike Stop does publish SAFRA member promotion rates for hiring, such as 3 hours for $20 on its WQ, WJ and WB bike series and 1 hour for $8 on the WX series, then $4 an hour. Our Bike Stop guide has the full list.

E-bikes, officially power-assisted bicycles or PABs, follow stricter rules, according to OneMotoring:

  • Modifications to batteries, wiring, motor or controller and frame are generally not allowed unless covered by the original EN15194 testing.
  • Throttles are prohibited.
  • “It is an offence to tamper with or remove the seal.”
  • Retailers may not keep non-compliant PABs or e-scooters that are not UL2272-certified.
  • From Q2 2027, it will be an offence for retailers to display, advertise or sell an unapproved, unsealed PAB, unless the listing says it will be approved and sealed before delivery.

Our guide to motorcycles, PMDs and e-bikes in Punggol covers registration, paths and the June 2026 rule changes.

Neighbour’s Tips for Bike Repairs in Punggol

  • Plan for Friday to Sunday. If a problem appears on Monday, it may be quicker to book a Tuesday appointment at Bike Stop than to wait for the weekend.
  • Phone Decathlon before you push a bike across town. Its services page names no stores, so availability can vary.
  • Ignore very old online listings. Several Punggol bike shops in older guides could not be confirmed, and the park around Punggol Point is closed for works.
  • Be wary of “upgrades” for e-bikes. A faster motor or a throttle is not a repair, and it can leave you riding an illegal device.
  • Carry a pump and a spare tube on long rides. We found no 24-hour repair in Punggol, and park connectors can be a long walk from home.
  • Write down your frame number. It helps with warranty claims and, if the worst happens, with a theft report. See our theft prevention guide.

If You Are Stuck Late or Far from Home

  • Injured in a fall: call 995.
  • Puncture at night: no 24-hour bike repair was verified in Punggol. Walk the bike to a safe, lit spot and arrange a lift with someone who has room for it.
  • Thinking of the train: only foldable bikes are allowed on trains and buses, within size limits. Our foldable bicycle guide explains them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a bicycle shop in Punggol?

Yes. Bike Stop @ SAFRA Punggol repairs and hires bikes, and Decathlon has stores at Waterway Point and Northshore. Independent shops may exist in HDB shop units, but we could not verify their addresses or whether they are open.

Does Decathlon Waterway Point repair bikes?

Decathlon says its stores offer bicycle servicing and repairs, but its services page does not name which stores have a workshop. Call the Waterway Point store before you bring your bike in.

When is Bike Stop at SAFRA Punggol open?

Friday to Sunday, 9am to 8pm, for rental and repair. Tuesdays and public holidays are by appointment only. It is closed on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Can a shop make my e-bike go faster?

It should not. A legal e-bike’s motor must cut off by 25 km/h, throttles are prohibited, and tampering with or removing the LTA seal is an offence.

Is there a 24-hour bike repair in Punggol?

We could not find one in October 2026. Carry a pump and spare tube on longer rides, and save the Bike Stop number for the weekend.

Are the bike shops at Punggol Jetty still open?

We could not confirm it. The listings we found date from 2017 to 2021, and Punggol Point Park has been closed since 11 August 2026 for works due to run until the end of 2027.
