Still under warranty

Call the brand first. Bosch, for example, repairs manufacturing and material faults free under its two-year manufacturer’s warranty or its Extended Warranty.

Out of warranty

Ask what the visit costs before you book, then weigh the likely repair bill against a replacement. An older, less efficient fridge or washer may also cost more to run.

How to Book an Appliance Repair in Punggol

1. Make it safe. Switch off at the wall and unplug. If water is involved, turn off the supply to the appliance.
2. Find the details. Note the brand, model and serial number from the rating plate. Bosch asks for the E-Nr and FD numbers.
3. Check the warranty. Dig out the receipt or warranty card. Samsung asks for proof of purchase.
4. Book through the official channel. Use the brand’s own hotline, website or WhatsApp listed on its support page.
5. Ask about charges first. Is there a visit or evaluation fee? Transport? Is it payable if you decide not to repair?
6. Clear the way. Washers and fridges often need to be pulled out, so free the space around them.
7. Keep the paperwork. File the job sheet and receipt. They help if the same fault returns.

Only two of the brands we checked publish their repair charges. Both say prices can change, so treat these as figures at the time of checking in October 2026.

• Mitsubishi Electric (service charges, GST inclusive, plus $45 transport, parts extra): refrigerator evaluation from $65 and repair from $120; room aircon evaluation from $140 and repair from $220; fan evaluation from $22 and repair from $45. Surcharges may apply for after-hours or same-day service.
• Bosch (repair service page): an out-of-warranty service charge of $165 covers the visit, fault diagnosis and a parts estimate. It is payable even if you decline the repair, and parts are extra.
• LG, Samsung, Electrolux and Panasonic: no charges were published on the pages we checked, so ask for a quote when you book.

Water Heater and Electrical Safety

PUB lists installing or replacing an electric storage water heater among the jobs only a PUB Licensed Plumber may do. EMA adds that water heaters need a dedicated connection point and should never be plugged into a standard three-pin socket.

EMA also says frequent power trips after you add an appliance are often caused by a faulty appliance, while installation problems need a Licensed Electrical Worker on site. Every home has had to have an RCCB since 1 July 2025. Buy appliances with the SAFETY mark, and check whether yours has been recalled with our product recall check.

Neighbour’s Tips for Appliance Repair in Punggol

• Photograph the rating plate on day one. Once a fridge is built in, the plate is hard to reach. A photo in your phone saves a lot of crawling.
• Aim for a weekday. Mitsubishi Electric’s on-site service runs Monday to Friday, and the LG, Electrolux and Panasonic lines close on Sundays and public holidays.
• Ask the “if I say no” question. With Bosch, the $165 visit fee is payable even if you decline. Ask every brand the same thing before you book.
• Use LG’s new address. The service centre moved to Lorong Chuan in November 2025, so older search results may send you to the wrong place.
• Samsung appliances get home visits. Samsung’s walk-in centres are for mobile devices, so book washers, fridges and aircons through the hotline.

If It Is Urgent

• The water heater is leaking: switch off its power and turn off the water to the flat. Call a PUB Licensed Plumber. For a major pipe burst or supply interruption, call PUB’s 24-hour line on 1800-2255-782.
• Smoke, sparks or a burning smell: switch off at the mains if it is safe, get out and call 995.
• A power cut or supply fault: call SP on 1800 778 8888, 24 hours.
• Everything else: brand repair lines are office-hours services, so a broken fridge at night means a cooler box and a call in the morning.
