The routine aircon servicing Punggol flats need is usually done by mobile technicians who come to your home. We could not verify any servicing shopfront in Punggol. NEA’s advice is simple: check the filters monthly, service the unit regularly and have it inspected once a year. Book through the brand or a firm you have checked.
A well-kept aircon is quieter and cheaper to run. It is also far less likely to drip on your bedroom floor at 2am.
This page is part of eduKate Punggol’s Essential Information for Punggol, our quick answers and where-to-go lists for everyday life in Punggol. It covers how often to service your aircon, who to call, what the brands publish as prices, and the checks that keep you and the technician safe.
Quick answer
- How often: NEA says to check the air filter once a month, service the unit regularly and get it inspected annually. BCA adds that the outdoor brackets should be inspected at least every six months.
- Who to call: brand service lines such as Daikin (6311 8686), LG (6512 0555), Panasonic (6222 7222), Mitsubishi Electric (6473 0308) and Samsung (1800-SAMSUNG), or an independent servicing firm.
- Published prices: Daikin lists general servicing at $120 for the first unit, transport included, and $80 for each extra unit, before GST and parts (checked October 2026).
- Licences: NEA has no registration requirement for household aircon servicing companies. A more useful check is whether the technician is on NEA’s list of ITE-trained residential aircon technicians.
- Leaks or new units: see our guides to aircon leaks and trained installers and brackets.

Which Option Fits Your Aircon
It is still under warranty
Start with the brand’s own line. Have the model number and your proof of purchase ready, as Samsung asks for proof of purchase or the warranty card.
You want a regular routine
Some brands sell maintenance contracts. Daikin’s “3 + 1” residential package, for example, bundles three preventive maintenance visits with one steam clean; package prices are by enquiry. An independent firm may offer something similar, so ask exactly what each visit includes.
It is dripping or smells musty
A leak needs a little detective work before you book. Our aircon leak guide lists what to record first. If the whole flat feels damp after weeks of closed windows, read our haze, condensation and mould guide.
You are replacing a unit or a bracket
HDB says only BCA-trained air-conditioning unit installers may install or replace units. Our installer and supports guide explains how to check.
How to Book Aircon Servicing in Punggol, Step by Step
- Count your units. Note the brand, the number of indoor units (fan coils) and the number of outdoor units (condensers). Most quotes are priced per unit.
- Check the filter first. Weak cooling is sometimes just a clogged filter. Cleaning it may buy you time and tells you how overdue the service is.
- Ask for a written quote. It should say whether the visit is general servicing, a steam or chemical clean, or an inspection, plus the per-unit price, transport, parts and GST.
- Ask about training. Ask whether the technician has completed ITE’s residential aircon course. You can look for the name on NEA’s list, which matters most for R32 units.
- Ask for a bracket check. BCA advises having a trained installer inspect the supports during routine servicing.
- Book through official channels only. Use the firm’s own phone number or website. Never install an app sent to you over WhatsApp.
- Check before they leave. Run each unit, look for drips, and make sure the drain pipe still runs inside the flat to a floor trap.
Getting Your Flat Ready
- Clear the floor and furniture under each indoor unit, and cover anything you do not want splashed.
- Make a clear path to the window or ledge where the outdoor unit sits.
- Keep children and pets in another room while ladders and cleaning equipment are out.
- Have your model numbers, past service receipts and warranty card in one place.
- Note any symptoms: noises, smells, ice on the pipes, or the remote’s error code.
Costs, Licences and Rules
There is no government price guide for aircon servicing. Two brands publish their charges. Both say prices can change without notice, so treat these as figures at the time of checking in October 2026.
- Daikin general servicing (split systems): $120 for the first fan coil or condenser unit, transport included, then $80 for each further unit. Steam cleaning is $260 per wall-mounted fan coil and $240 per condenser. Prices exclude parts and GST (Daikin standard charges). The location surcharge applies only to postal codes starting 01–08 and 17, not to Punggol.
- A worked example: one outdoor condenser and three indoor fan coils make four units. At Daikin’s published rate, that is $120 + 3 × $80 = $360 before GST and parts.
- Mitsubishi Electric repairs: room aircon evaluation from $140 and repair service from $220 per unit, GST inclusive, plus $45 transport and parts (service charges). These are repair charges, not routine servicing.
- Climate Vouchers: servicing was not listed as an eligible item on the pages we checked. See our Climate Vouchers checklist.
On licences, NEA’s refrigerant page (last updated 26 August 2026) sets no registration requirement for household aircon servicing companies. Technicians can take ITE’s Certificate of Competency, and for R32 systems, SCDF rules require manufacturers to make sure their service staff have completed ITE training.
The rules with real teeth are about safety. HDB’s aircon care guide says improper installation can mean a fine of up to $5,000 and/or up to 6 months’ jail. If a unit or its support falls because it was not maintained, the penalty is a fine of up to $20,000 and/or up to a year’s jail.
Neighbour’s Tips for Aircon Servicing in Punggol
- Make the 1st of the month filter day. NEA suggests a monthly filter check. It takes five minutes and keeps the machine from working harder than it needs to.
- Try 25°C. NEA’s energy-saving tips estimate about 3% savings for each degree you raise the setting. Running the aircon for an hour and then switching to a fan saves about 23%.
- Look at the bracket from inside. Rust streaks or flaking paint are your cue to ask for a trained installer. Never lean out of the window to check.
- Back the technician who says no. A 2024 MOM and BCA circular describes a technician who fell about 11 metres and died when brackets gave way. Corroded brackets must be fixed before servicing goes ahead.
- Keep the pipes inside. HDB requires condensing-unit piping to run internally and drain to an internal floor trap. Say no to any shortcut through the window.
- Check the trays for standing water. BCA points owners to NEA’s mosquito-prevention guidance, which covers aircon trays.
- Book on a weekday. Daikin’s call centre is closed at weekends, and most brand lines shut on public holidays.
If Something Goes Wrong
- Water through the ceiling or into the flat below: switch the unit off, catch the water and take photos. See our ceiling leak first steps.
- Smoke, sparks or a burning smell: switch off at the power point or mains if it is safe, get everyone out and call 995. Our home fire guide explains what to do next.
- A “technician” asks you to install an app or share your screen: stop and call the 24-hour ScamShield Helpline on 1799, as the Police advise.
- The outdoor bracket looks loose: stop using the unit, keep people away from that window and call a BCA-trained installer.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I service my aircon?
NEA gives no fixed interval. It says to check the filter monthly, service regularly and have the system inspected annually. BCA adds a bracket inspection at least every six months. We found no official source for an “every three months” rule.
Does an aircon technician need an NEA licence?
Not for household servicing, according to NEA’s refrigerant page in October 2026. NEA does publish a list of technicians who completed ITE’s residential aircon course, which is a handy check.
How much does aircon servicing cost?
Prices are set by each firm. Daikin publishes $120 for the first unit, transport included, and $80 for each extra unit, before GST and parts. Always get a written quote.
Is there an aircon servicing shop in Punggol?
We could not verify one in October 2026. Servicing is done at your home, so a shopfront nearby matters less than a firm you have checked. Old online mall listings can be out of date, so confirm with the brand before you travel.
Who should check my aircon bracket?
A BCA-trained air-conditioning unit installer. BCA advises owners to inspect supports at least every six months and to replace badly corroded brackets with new stainless steel ones.
Where is the LG service centre now?
At New Tech Park, 151 Lorong Chuan, Lobby H #02-08/09, from 24 November 2025. Call 6512 0555 first, as most aircon work is done at home.
