Waterway Point is still the original centre of gravity for modern Punggol: the mall sits directly above Punggol MRT/LRT and beside the bus interchange, with shopping, food, cinema, groceries and everyday services concentrated in one place. But the 2026 version of the mall is not exactly the same as older Punggol guides describe. The pickup/drop-off point and taxi stand have moved, DON DON DONKI now runs to midnight, FairPrice Finest is 24 hours, and the mall’s dining and retail mix continues to change.

Why Waterway Point still matters after Punggol Coast opened
Punggol now has a second northern centre around Punggol Coast MRT, SIT and the Digital District, but Waterway Point remains the most complete one-stop mall for the older Town Centre.

The choice between Waterway Point and Punggol Coast Mall is increasingly about which side of the town you are already using.
Getting there by MRT and LRT
Waterway Point’s official visit page directs rail users to Exit A from Punggol MRT/LRT Station (NE17/PTC). This is the mall’s strongest advantage: there is no outdoor last-mile transfer after arriving at the Town Centre.
For residents arriving by LRT, the Town Centre interchange also makes Waterway Point a natural meeting point between the east and west loops.
Getting there by bus
Punggol Interchange sits beside the mall and is currently served by a large set of trunk and feeder services, including routes connecting Punggol to Sengkang, Hougang, Tampines, Seletar and other areas.
Because bus services change more often than the mall address, use the current LTA / journey-planner route rather than memorising an old list from a blog post.
Pickup/drop-off and taxi: the 2026 change
Waterway Point’s current homepage carries an important access update: the new Pick-Up/Drop-Off Point has been relocated to Punggol Walk, and the Taxi Stand has been relocated opposite the mall along Punggol Central.
That matters for ride-hailing, grandparents, young children and anyone using an older saved pin. Check the mall’s current map before telling a driver to use an old pickup point.
Parking
The mall currently publishes these car-parking rates:
- Monday–Friday: S$1.50 for the first hour, then S$0.80 for every subsequent half hour or part thereof.
- Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: S$1.60 for the first hour, then S$0.80 for every subsequent half hour or part thereof.
Parking rates can change, so use the current official Visit page when parking cost materially affects the outing.
The food layer
Waterway Point currently divides dining into Cafés & Restaurants, Grab & Go, Market Fresh and Halal Delights. It also has Cookhouse by Koufu as the main food-court anchor.

Groceries: FairPrice Finest and DON DON DONKI
The mall’s official visit page currently highlights a 24-hour FairPrice Finest. DON DON DONKI is also a current tenant, with its official store page listing 9am–midnight daily.
This makes Waterway Point useful even outside the mall’s 10am–10pm headline hours. The grocery layer keeps part of the Town Centre functioning before or after the main retail day.
Cinema: Shaw Theatres and IMAX
Waterway Point’s official visit page currently lists a Shaw Theatres cineplex with 11 screens, including an IMAX theatre. This is one of the clearest reasons teenagers and families still use Waterway Point as the default entertainment mall.
For a movie outing, decide the meal based on the time before the show rather than trying to squeeze a full restaurant dinner into a thirty-minute window.
Shopping
The current official mall directory groups shops into categories including fashion, bags and shoes, jewellery and watches, tech and appliances, home and living, sports and leisure, alongside beauty, services and family-oriented retail.
Major current anchors include brands such as Uniqlo, Best Denki, DON DON DONKI and FairPrice Finest, but the exact retail tenant list should remain with the mall’s live directory.
Family facilities
Waterway Point positions itself as a family and lifestyle mall. Current listed facilities include:

For families with young children or seniors, those practical facilities can matter more than which fashion brand is present.
Waterway Point + One Punggol
The Town Centre works as a system rather than one building. Waterway Point owns the retail/entertainment layer; One Punggol owns the community/library/hawker layer; Punggol MRT/LRT and the bus interchange own movement; the Waterway provides the outdoor landscape.
This means a family can combine:

Waterway Point with teenagers
The mall is one of the easiest independent teenage meeting points in Punggol because the transport, food, cinema and shops sit together. Parents can define a simple return time and meeting point without needing to drive.

The best family strategy is often to use Waterway Point as the indoor anchor rather than the whole outing. Combine it with One Punggol or Waterway Park so children are not indoors for the entire day.

Direct MRT access, seating, lifts, toilets, medical/health retail, food and grocery options make the mall one of the easier Punggol destinations for multi-generation outings.
Rainy day
Waterway Point is one of Punggol’s most reliable rainy-day destinations because the MRT connection is direct and the mall can support food, shopping and a movie without outdoor exposure.

Do not automatically travel to Town Centre for every errand.
