The Punggol Family Education Calendar 2027 should help a family see the year before the year becomes urgent. Registration, school terms, weighted assessments, PSLE, the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), results releases, school transitions and tuition decisions all compete for attention. The useful calendar is therefore not a wall of dates. It is a map of what changes when and what the family should prepare before each change arrives.
Important accuracy note: as of 26 September 2026, MOE and SEAB have not yet published the complete 2027 school-term and PSLE examination calendars. This page will be refreshed when those dates are official. Where exact 2027 dates are not yet published, the calendar below states the planning window rather than inventing a date.
One major 2027 change is confirmed: the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) replaces the separate GCE N(T), N(A) and O-Level structure for the 2027 graduating cohort. SEAB has confirmed that English Language and Mother Tongue written examinations will be held in September, while the rest of the written SEC examinations will run from October into November. Non-written components such as oral, listening and Science practicals take place earlier.

January: do not let the new year become an emergency
January has different jobs depending on school stage.
- Primary 1: install school routines, reading, packing, instructions and recovery after a long day.
- Primary 5: begin the PSLE runway without turning the whole year into exam drilling.
- Primary 6: establish the truth about current strengths and weak links before full-paper volume rises.
- Secondary 1: adjust to more subjects, CCA, new peers and greater independence.
- Secondary 3: absorb upper-secondary subject depth and A-Math where relevant.
- Secondary 4: begin the 2027 SEC year with a stable revision and execution system.
Families should avoid reacting to the first difficult week by adding several new classes. Use the Student Self-Check and the Punggol Parent’s Education Map.
January 2027 also carries 2026 O-Level results
SEAB currently gives a tentative release window of 13–15 January 2027 for the 2026 GCE O-Level results. The exact day is confirmed closer to release. For families making post-secondary choices, this is a transition point rather than merely a result day.
Use What Happens After Secondary School? and The SEC Examinations and JC/Poly/ITE Pathway.
February 2027: A-Level results and the next route
SEAB currently lists 19–23 February 2027 as the tentative release window for the 2026 GCE A-Level results. Again, the exact release day is announced later.
Families should treat this as a choice point across university, National Service timing where relevant, work, gap-year possibilities and other education routes—not as a final judgment on capability.
March: the first system audit
By the end of the first school term, there is usually enough evidence to ask:
- Which subject is taking too long?
- What error has repeated more than once?
- Is the timetable sustainable?
- Is tuition solving a real problem?
- Is the learner becoming more independent?
This is a better moment for a tuition decision than the first week of January because the family now has real school evidence.
April and May: WAs are school evidence, not national milestones
Weighted Assessments and school tests do not follow one national date. Each school controls its own assessment calendar within MOE requirements. Families should therefore use the school’s official communication rather than expecting a single Punggol-wide WA timetable.
After results, use What Punggol Parents Ask After Results Day.
June: the mid-year decision window
MOE’s exact 2027 school-holiday dates are not yet published as of this page’s check date. Once the calendar appears, this section should be updated with the actual break.
The educational job is already clear, however. June is a good time to choose among:
- pause and recover;
- repair one weak prerequisite;
- consolidate fragile learning;
- prepare selectively for the second half of the year;
- begin more deliberate exam execution for students approaching major examinations.
Use Holiday Tuition in Punggol 2027.
P1 registration 2027: update only from MOE
The exact 2027 P1 registration dates and vacancy figures should be taken from MOE’s official registration system when released. Do not reuse 2026 vacancy numbers as though they are 2027 forecasts.
The current local owner is Primary 1 Registration in Punggol. It should be refreshed as soon as official 2027 phase dates, vacancies and balloting information appear.
PSLE 2027: exact dates pending
SEAB currently publishes the 2026 PSLE examination calendar, not the 2027 calendar. The exact 2027 Oral, Listening Comprehension, written-paper, marking and results dates must therefore remain pending until SEAB publishes them.
The planning sequence remains useful:
- first half of year — repair and integrate;
- before Oral — build spoken response quality and live communication;
- mid-year onward — increase transfer and mixed work;
- after prelims — triage and protect execution;
- after the final written paper — leave PSLE mode and begin the Secondary 1 transition.
Use PSLE Tuition in Punggol for the complete cross-subject year.
The 2027 SEC is not “O-Level with a new name”
For the 2027 graduating cohort, the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate brings G1, G2 and G3 subject examinations into one certificate structure. Students sit subjects at their respective subject levels, and the certificate records those subject levels.
SEAB has confirmed the broad examination timing:
- September: English Language and Mother Tongue Language written examinations.
- Before the main written period: non-written components such as oral, listening and Science practicals.
- October to November: the remaining written examinations.
This changes family planning because English now has an earlier written-examination peak. Secondary 4 students should not treat English as something that can wait until the rest of the October revision season.
Use The SEC Examinations and JC/Poly/ITE Pathway and The Secondary Pathway.
September–November: protect the family system
Major examination periods create a predictable risk: everything else is allowed to become chaotic. Sleep shortens. Meals become irregular. Exercise disappears. Every free hour becomes revision.
A stronger exam-season calendar protects:
- sleep;
- meal timing;
- known revision routines;
- transport time;
- recovery after difficult papers;
- the decision to stop revising once a topic is already stable.
Use The Exam Student.
November and December: transition, not endless revision
Once national examinations end, the job changes. P6 students prepare for Secondary 1. Sec 4 students evaluate post-secondary routes. Other year groups close gaps and prepare for the next stage without turning the holidays into another school term.
Use Singapore Education Pathway and the Holiday Tuition 2027 decision guide.

A good education calendar does not make a family anxious earlier. It gives each stage a job, protects the weeks before pressure arrives, and keeps the next decision visible.
