Halal Groceries and Muslim Essentials in Punggol

Outdoor seating and gathering area at Waterway Point in Punggol.

There is no dedicated halal grocery Punggol residents can walk to that we could verify in October 2026. The nearest halal one-stop shop we found is SuzyAmeer at Buangkok Square (991 Buangkok Link, #01-24/25), open 9am–9pm daily. Before you rely on any shop or product, check its status with MUIS.

We would rather tell you plainly than send you on a wasted trip. The nearest options are not far, and one of them delivers.

This page is part of eduKate Punggol’s Essential Information for Punggol, our quick answers and where-to-go lists for everyday life in Punggol. It covers where to buy halal groceries near Punggol, how to check halal status, and the Muslim essentials you can find while shopping here. For eating out, see our halal food guide.

Quick answer

  • Inside Punggol: we could not verify a dedicated halal grocery, halal butcher or Muslim-essentials shop.
  • Nearest halal shop: SuzyAmeer, Buangkok Square, for frozen food, groceries, fashion and home items. Open 9am–9pm daily. It also has an online shop with free delivery above $99 (as published).
  • Supermarket beef: FairPrice’s own list marks the beef counter at FairPrice Punggol Oasis (Oasis Terraces) as not halal-certified. The nearest halal-certified counter on that list is FairPrice Xtra at Hougang 1.
  • Check before you trust: use the MUIS consumer page and its halal establishment search.
  • Report a concern: email info@muis.gov.sg or call 6359 1199.

Hours checked October 2026 — confirm on the official page before you go: SuzyAmeer, Toko Warisan outlets and FairPrice’s halal beef counter list. Toko Warisan lists no outlet in Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, Pasir Ris or Seletar. SuzyAmeer’s site calls it a halal one-stop shop but does not name a certifier, so check items with MUIS if you are unsure.

Which Option Fits Your Shopping

The weekly halal shop

SuzyAmeer at Buangkok Square is the closest one-stop option we found. If you would rather skip the trip, its online shop delivers, and orders above $99 go free (as published).

Beef from a supermarket counter

Do not assume. FairPrice publishes the halal status of each beef counter, and its list shows the Punggol Oasis counter at Oasis Terraces (#B1-01) is not halal-certified. Hougang 1’s counter is. Check the list again before you go. FairPrice last updated the page in August 2026.

Frozen food in bulk

Toko Warisan Halal Frozen in Tampines specialises in frozen goods, and SuzyAmeer’s main branch is in the same block. Bring a cooler bag for the ride home.

Getting ready for Hari Raya

Geylang Serai Market and Toko Warisan’s Muslim-lifestyle shops at Joo Chiat Complex cover groceries, books and wedding items. Our Hari Raya in Punggol guide has mosque events, halal food and kuih closer to home.

How to Check a Halal Grocery near Punggol

  1. Start with MUIS. The MUIS consumer page links to its search for halal-certified eating establishments and food preparation areas.
  2. Ask the shop what is certified. A “halal” sign or a listing is not the same as certification. Ask which items or counters are MUIS-certified.
  3. Check supermarket counters on the operator’s list. For FairPrice beef counters, use FairPrice’s halal beef counter page, which marks each store.
  4. Treat doubtful items with care. MUIS classes food as Halal, Non-halal (Haram) or Syubhah (doubtful), and advises Muslims to avoid Syubhah items until their status is clear.
  5. Read the price label. In 2018, a Punggol supermarket label wrongly read “Pig Liver” on halal-certified chicken. MUIS checked the same day and found a labelling error. Labels can be wrong.
  6. Report anything that worries you. Email info@muis.gov.sg, call 6359 1199, or use the MUIS feedback form.

Muslim Essentials Inside Punggol

Punggol does have what you need for prayer while you shop. A community-contributed listing describes two musollahs on Waterway Point’s B2: one at Lobby C, beside FairPrice Finest (#B2-32) and opposite the toilets, and one in the West Wing on the walkway to McDonald’s. It says prayer mats and telekung are provided, with wudhu at the nearby toilets. The listing is a few years old, so check live.

For mosques, see our places of worship guide. For halal meals, our halal food guide lists MUIS-certified hawkers, cafés and restaurants, and the Waterway Point food guide has a halal section.

What to Bring

  • A cooler bag or ice pack for frozen meat and seafood.
  • A shopping list split by shop, if you are combining Buangkok and Tampines.
  • CDC vouchers, if you are shopping at a Toko Warisan outlet that accepts them.
  • The MUIS consumer page saved on your phone, so you can check a doubtful item on the spot.

Costs, Vouchers and Delivery

  • CDC vouchers: Toko Warisan says its outlets accept them, except at its Geylang (50 Changi Road) and City Plaza shops, where its outlet page does not mention them.
  • Delivery: SuzyAmeer’s online shop offers free delivery above $99 (as published, October 2026).
  • Prices: we could not check prices against each shop’s own pages, so we have not quoted any.

Neighbour’s Tips

  • Ask “Is this MUIS-certified?” It is a clearer question than “Is this halal?”, and good shops are used to it.
  • Do the Tampines double. SuzyAmeer’s main branch and Toko Warisan Halal Frozen are both in Blk 201D Tampines St 21, so one trip covers two shops.
  • Go to Geylang Serai early. Toko Warisan’s mini mart there closes at 5.30pm, which catches out after-work shoppers.
  • Keep the cold chain. A cooler bag or ice pack keeps frozen meat safe on the way back to Punggol.
  • Use WhatsApp for stock questions. SuzyAmeer lists a WhatsApp number, 8759 4920, which saves a trip if you only need one item.
  • Old names, closed shops. Global Halal Hub, once described as Singapore’s only all-halal-certified supermarket, closed in 2018. Ignore old listings that still show it.

We could not verify one in October 2026. The nearest dedicated halal shop we found is SuzyAmeer at Buangkok Square, which also delivers through its online shop.

Use the halal establishment search linked from the MUIS consumer page. If you are still unsure, contact MUIS on 6359 1199 or at info@muis.gov.sg.

Is there a musollah at Waterway Point?

A community listing describes two on B2, one at Lobby C beside FairPrice Finest and one in the West Wing. It is not an official mall source, so check live before you rely on it.

Can I use CDC vouchers at halal grocers?

Toko Warisan says its outlets accept them, apart from its Geylang (50 Changi Road) and City Plaza shops, where they are not mentioned. Ask other shops at the counter.

What if I spot a wrong halal label?
