SIT Library’s Tinkering Zone is at W1 Level 4 near the Library Office. The university describes it as a makerspace for learning beyond the classroom, including coding, robotics and photography.
Use the official Library facilities page for orientation. Ask the Library about the particular equipment, current access rules and any instruction needed before planning to use it.
This is an SIT university learning space, separate from NLB’s MakeIT facilities at Punggol Library. A published description does not establish public walk-in access, a free workshop timetable or permission to operate every device.

Choose a small question to investigate
As a suggested learning approach, begin with something observable: can a simple instruction produce the result you expected, and what changes when one input changes?
A short task is easier to test than a vague plan to learn everything about robotics. Write down the intended result before beginning so that you have something concrete to compare with what actually happens.
Ask about the equipment before using it
Describe what you want to do and ask which setup is suitable, available and permitted. Check any booking, supervision or preparation requirement directly with the Library.
Do not infer current equipment stock from an old photograph or assume an unfamiliar device works like one you used elsewhere. Follow the instructions for the actual equipment and report a problem rather than improvising a repair.
Keep a record of the experiment
A useful project note has three parts: what you tried, what happened and what you would change next. Keep the original settings or code so that you can compare versions.
When a result is unexpected, change one relevant thing at a time where practical. This makes the cause easier to understand and the outcome easier to explain. These are general learning suggestions, not an SIT course syllabus.

For photography planning, see our SIT photography-space guide. A larger studio booking is a different arrangement from exploring a small makerspace.
Our SIT Punggol guide gives wider campus context. Contact the Library through its official page for eligibility and current arrangements instead of assuming another campus facility’s rules apply.
