SIT’s Construction Technology Innovation Laboratory (CTIL) is a collaboration with Woh Hup supporting applied research for Singapore’s construction industry. It works on technologies for building structures and sub-structures, with a focus on translating research into practical construction improvements.
For CTIL research partnerships or training enquiries, the official contact is ctil@singaporetech.edu.sg. Describe your project or learning objective and ask the team to confirm the appropriate next step.
CTIL has held activities at SIT Punggol Campus, but a published seminar does not establish daily visitor opening hours. Check a current event’s registration, venue and eligibility; do not travel expecting a walk-in demonstration or equipment booking.

Research with practical construction aims
The official CTIL page identifies site safety, productivity, cost efficiency and reduced labour requirements among its translation aims. It also describes upskilling for construction professionals.
For a company, the useful question is not simply whether a technology looks impressive. State the site constraint and the result you want to improve, so an initial discussion can focus on a specific operational need.
Understand the partnership model
CTIL describes co-funded applied research involving CTIL, SIT and industry partners, possible external government funding applications, and joint intellectual-property ownership involving SIT, Woh Hup and partners.
Treat that overview as a starting point, not a ready-made contract. Before sharing proprietary drawings or accepting project terms, ask how scope, costs, confidentiality, ownership and use of results would be agreed for your particular proposal.
Separate past events from current places
The laboratory’s website includes a high-strength steel and robotic-welding workshop dated 11 June 2026. That date has passed as of this guide’s check date; it is evidence of past programming, not an upcoming booking.
For any new seminar, read its own event details. A previous auditorium location, fee or audience should not be carried across to another event without confirmation.
Make an enquiry that can be routed
Introduce your organisation and project stage. Briefly explain the material, structural or construction-process challenge, the intended outcome and the timeline. Ask whether research collaboration, training or another referral is the better route.
If a visit is arranged, request the exact building and room instead of relying on the general campus address. Our SIT Punggol Campus guide provides orientation, while the CTIL team should confirm meeting access.
