SIT alumni can use library benefits at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Library on SIT’s Punggol campus. The university’s alumni guidance identifies the Level 5 Collection Area for hardcopy materials and Level 4 Specialised Terminals for access to many electronic resources.
Before visiting the SIT Punggol library as an alumnus, contact the Office of SITizen Experience at alumni@singaporetech.edu.sg to obtain access instructions. Alumni access follows the university’s arrangements; a public campus visit or an NLB membership does not by itself explain how to enter the SIT library.
Electronic resource access depends on publisher licences. SIT says most of these resources are available to alumni through onsite specialised terminals, with only a limited selection available off campus. Check the resource you need and the current library hours before making a research trip.

How alumni should arrange library access
Start with the official SIT alumni library benefits page and follow its access guidance.
In your enquiry, explain that you are an SIT alumnus and want to visit the Punggol library. Ask what you should prepare for entry and whether any advance step applies to your intended visit. Follow the university’s reply rather than relying on an old student access routine.
Confirm the library’s current operating hours through the link on the alumni benefits page. Campus areas, library collections and other alumni facilities can have different access arrangements; allow time to find the correct entrance.
Using the Level 5 print collection
Plan a print research visit around the question you need to answer. A book or reference work may be useful when you want to compare explanations, follow a bibliography or examine a topic in more depth.
Prepare the title, author and edition before travelling. Ask library staff if you need help locating a specific item, and check its availability. An online catalogue record is a starting point for planning, rather than proof that an item will be on the shelf when you arrive.
Before scanning or copying anything, read the library’s instructions and the notices attached to the material. If you need help understanding an instruction or identifying the appropriate permission process, ask staff before proceeding.
Onsite terminals and off-campus electronic access
Make a list of the electronic publications you need before travelling. Prioritise material essential to the project so you can use your research time efficiently, then keep a second list of sources you would like to explore if time allows.
Test the access route recommended to you before relying on it for a deadline. If an old bookmark or login does not work, send the details to the library rather than repeatedly trying the same route.
Send the article title, database name or publication details to the library when asking for help. This makes it easier to establish whether the resource can be used onsite, whether an off-campus option exists, and what steps you should follow.
Getting help with a research question
SIT’s alumni information offers librarian consultations by Zoom or email for work-related and personal research. Library questions can be directed to library@singaporetech.edu.sg; entry instructions are handled through the alumni office.
A useful enquiry describes your topic, the information you have already found and the difficulty you are trying to resolve. For example, explain whether you need a source on a specific engineering process, an industry comparison or guidance locating a publication.
Keep the question focused enough for a librarian to suggest a search route. When you receive results, record titles and publication details so you can find the same material again and acknowledge the sources in your own work.
Planning the Punggol visit and choosing the right library
SIT’s library belongs to the university campus. Punggol Library at One Punggol is a separate NLB public library with its own collections and services. Our SIT public visitor guide helps explain the distinction.
For campus arrival and block-finding, use the SIT Punggol transport guide. Keep your library access instructions with your travel plan so you know where to go after reaching the campus.
Before setting off, confirm entry instructions, hours and the resource you intend to use. A prepared visit leaves more time for reading and research, especially when the material you need is available only onsite.
