Yes, the public can visit some spaces at SIT Punggol Campus. The university’s published campus FAQ identifies areas at Campus Boulevard, Level 2, and below, including the Community Park, Heritage Trail, Makerspace, SIT Visitor Gallery and food courts. This is permission for specified public spaces, not unrestricted entry throughout the university.
SIT Punggol Campus library access needs a separate check. The Ngee Ann Kongsi Library is the university library; Punggol Regional Library at One Punggol is a different institution. A public campus walkway does not automatically provide library admission, room-booking rights or access to university digital resources.
For a family visit, choose a named public destination or confirmed programme and check its current hours and arrangements before travelling. SIT gives students and staff priority for campus facilities and considers external requests individually. For alumni library access, the university publishes a dedicated instruction route.

What public access actually means
Read the answer to a precise question: ‘May I enter this particular space for this particular purpose?’ That is more useful than asking whether the whole campus is ‘open’.
SIT’s campus FAQ is the source for the public-area description above. Its facilities guidance distinguishes general access from externally requested use. Details checked on 10 October 2026.
A makerspace named in a public-area list does not establish unrestricted use of tools. A visitor gallery does not establish today’s event schedule. Where your visit depends on equipment, staff assistance or a timed programme, ask about that specific service.
A sensible first campus visit
Start with one purpose: seeing the campus environment, attending a registered event or visiting a confirmed public space. A short, clear visit is easier to enjoy than a plan built around several unconfirmed activities.
Follow signs, use designated routes and give students space to move between classes. Keep photography considerate, especially around identifiable people, teaching activity and security notices.
Ask a child what they notice about the building, routes or surroundings. You can have an interesting conversation about university life without entering a classroom or laboratory.
The university library has its own rules
The Ngee Ann Kongsi Library’s own guide describes its role in supporting SIT students’ learning, including information and digital literacy.
Do not infer public borrowing or database access from a photograph of a library building. Visiting, using a seat, borrowing an item and accessing an electronic resource are separate services.
If you are a member of the public, contact the library about your purpose before making a library-dependent trip. This guide does not claim a general walk-in entitlement that the reviewed sources do not establish.
Alumni: follow the published access route
SIT’s alumni library page directs alumni to contact the Office of SITizen Experience at alumni@singaporetech.edu.sg for access instructions. It also explains that some electronic-resource use is available through specialised terminals, while publisher licensing limits off-campus availability.
Use the instructions for your own eligibility rather than assuming a former student card, another person’s login or a previous visit settles today’s access.
If you need a specific article or book for work, ask what lawful access route is available. Knowing the exact title or identifier makes an enquiry more efficient.
SIT Library or Punggol Regional Library?
| Need | Starting point | Check separately |
|---|---|---|
| SIT academic resources | The university library | Eligibility and resource access |
| A family public-library visit | Punggol Regional Library at One Punggol | Current visitor information and programme rules |
| A university event | The named SIT organiser | Registration and entry instructions |
| Use of campus facilities | SIT’s facilities guidance | Approval, availability and conditions |
Your best destination depends on what you want to do. A quiet reading visit with children is a different task from accessing a university research resource.
Our Punggol Regional Library guide covers the separate One Punggol library experience.
Before you leave home
Confirm the destination, current opening arrangements, any registration and your return route. If someone needs step-free access or another adjustment, describe that need to the organiser.
Keep an alternative plan nearby if your chosen session is unavailable. A visitor can enjoy the broader neighbourhood without making entry to one restricted space the only successful outcome.
Read the SIT campus overview for context, then follow the operator’s current instructions for the actual visit.
