Did you know? A Primary 6 revision plan can become shorter when it becomes more precise. Tuition can help by finding the exact skill that is limiting a subject, teaching it clearly and checking whether the child can use it independently. The same amount of extra homework in every subject rarely reflects the child’s actual needs.
Review English, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue separately. In English, distinguish understanding a passage from expressing the answer. In Mathematics, inspect the first wrong relationship or calculation. In Science, separate missing knowledge from an incomplete explanation. In Mother Tongue, identify the specific listening, speaking, reading or writing need and check the subject level.
Bring recent marked work and the school’s feedback. Ask for two or three priorities, materials matched to the correct examination year and level, and a review date. A useful plan says what the learner should do better—not merely how many papers should be completed.

How can tuition find the highest-value next step?
Look across several pieces of work. One error may be a slip; a repeated pattern is a stronger reason to intervene. If the child repeatedly selects the wrong whole in percentage questions, teaching that decision is more useful than timing another mixed paper immediately.
For comprehension, ask the child to explain the passage aloud before writing. If the meaning is clear orally, work on selecting evidence and shaping a precise response. If the meaning is unclear, begin with vocabulary, sentence relationships or inference. Different causes need different practice.
What should revision look like across four subjects?
English practice can alternate reading, writing, listening and oral work according to the assessed requirements. Mathematics practice should include a reason and a check. Science practice should link the relevant concept to the situation in the question. Mother Tongue practice should follow the language and level actually offered.
Use SEAB’s formats page for the child’s examination year. The 2026 page identifies revised Mathematics and Science formats, including their Foundation counterparts. An older paper can still supply useful practice, but its content and format should be checked before it becomes the main preparation route.
How can the family judge whether tuition is helping?
Compare unaided work over time. Is the child interpreting a new question more accurately? Is the answer more complete? Does the child notice an implausible result? A corrected worksheet is useful evidence of feedback; a later fresh attempt is evidence of learning.
Keep the final weeks proportionate. Replace low-value repetition with focused retrieval, corrections and a realistic routine. Ask how the tuition plan will change after PSLE: rest first, then a carefully chosen bridge into secondary learning. The long-term aim is a learner who can reconnect knowledge when the language of school changes.
