One Punggol CC Classes | Where to Drop Off, Wait and Pick Up Your Child

Main entrance to One Punggol community hub in Singapore.

For a child’s first class at One Punggol Community Club, go to One Punggol at 1 Punggol Drive, Singapore 828629, and use the room or reporting point in your course confirmation. Sam Kee LRT (PW1) is next to the hub. The building also houses the regional library and hawker centre, so look for the community club’s directions when you arrive.

Before leaving your child, ask the organiser where to wait and exactly where pickup happens. Some activities may ask a parent to stay or participate. If you are free to leave the room area, a short library browse with a sibling or a meal upstairs can fit into the same visit. Decide when to return before you begin the extra stop.

  • Read the confirmation for the exact date, room and arrival instructions.
  • Check whether a parent must stay, participate or sign the child out.
  • Set a fixed pickup point and name the adult who will collect your child.
  • Treat the library and Level 2 hawker centre as optional stops during the wait.

SECTION 1 OF 5 · CONFIRM THE CLASS

Before you leave home

Find the room as well as the building

Open the latest class confirmation and look for the room, floor and reporting time. Save the message or keep it ready on your phone. If it only says One Punggol CC, look for a contact in the confirmation and ask where the group checks in. A class in a studio may have a different arrival point from a programme in the multipurpose hall. Follow the course organiser’s directions if they differ from an older calendar entry.

Read the participation instructions with the child. A drop-off class, a parent-and-child session and a workshop that allows adults to watch involve different plans. If an adult needs to stay, arrange for another caregiver to accompany a younger sibling if possible. If the organisers allow children to attend independently, check who is allowed to collect the child and whether a change of caregiver needs to be reported.

Check what the child needs to bring

Use the course’s own materials list. A movement class may have instructions about footwear or clothing, while a studio workshop may specify materials. For a recurring class, save the dates rather than assuming that every Saturday follows the same timetable. If a child has an access or support need, ask the organiser what they can arrange and how you should report on the first day.

For class listings, see One Punggol on onePA. If you are still choosing a class, use the guide to registering for One Punggol CC courses.

SECTION 2 OF 5 · ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN

Make the first drop-off easy to repeat

Back to contents

Use the right Punggol station

If you take the North East Line, Punggol MRT (NE17) is the interchange for the Punggol LRT. Sam Kee LRT is next to One Punggol. Punggol Coast MRT is another station serving the area around SIT and Punggol Digital District. Send the course venue’s full address to anyone meeting you, particularly if their directions only say “Punggol CC.”

If you are coming by bus or arranging a ride, allow time between getting off and reporting at the room. A child who needs to change footwear or use the toilet may need a few extra minutes. On the first day, use the general directory and find the correct lift or stairs, then take note of a permanent sign you can recognise next time.

Ask two questions at the door

First, ask the organiser where the child should go on arrival. Second, ask where and when the collecting adult should wait. A room entrance and a pickup point can be different when a class changes rooms, uses shared corridors or dismisses a group in stages. If there is a sign-out arrangement, follow it even when the child can already see you.

A useful message to the collecting adult is “One Punggol, 1 Punggol Drive. Go to the floor and room shown in the course confirmation. The instructor says to wait at the agreed door at 11.25 am.” Replace that example with the actual room and time. If the child is old enough to remember the plan, tell them who is coming and that they should follow the instructor’s directions at dismissal.

Use the People’s Association hub information to understand how the community club fits into the building.

SECTION 3 OF 5 · WAITING WITH SIBLINGS

Choose something you can finish before pickup

Back to contents

Keep the first wait close to the room

On the first visit, staying nearby can make the handover simpler if the organiser needs to contact you or the child takes time to settle. Ask which public waiting areas are available and keep the corridor clear. A short book or a small activity can occupy a sibling while you learn the building. If you step away, check how the organiser would reach you.

For a longer session, calculate the usable time after drop-off and before pickup. A one-hour class may leave forty minutes once you allow for handover, walking and getting back early. Choose something that fits the remaining time. A full meal with a queue may be a poor fit even if the hawker centre is in the same building.

Try one library section or get food for later

The main entrance to Punggol Regional Library is on Level 1. A sibling can choose one book to browse while you wait, provided the library is open and the activity suits the child. The hawker centre is on Level 2. If you want to buy food, allow time for the stall queue and collection, and decide where the family will eat before placing the order.

If two adults are present, one can return to the class while the other finishes the errand. Agree which adult is doing pickup before splitting. If you are the only adult, set an alarm for the time you need to leave your waiting activity. Set it for the start of the walk back, with a margin for a lift or toilet stop.

For a longer outing after class, see the One Punggol library-and-lunch plan.

SECTION 4 OF 5 · PICKUP CHANGES

Handle a different caregiver or a late arrival

Back to contents

Arrange a caregiver change before the class ends

If a grandparent or another caregiver is collecting your child, check what the organiser needs from you. Send the caregiver the current room, agreed waiting point and time. The address and a room code are more useful than a photo of an unfamiliar entrance. Let the child know about the change through the arrangements the organiser uses.

If the caregiver is running late, contact the organiser as soon as you can. Ask where the child should remain and which adult should be the point of contact. Give the organiser a realistic arrival estimate. A child who is ready to leave can stay with the group’s supervision arrangements until the organiser confirms the handover.

Save the details that worked

At home, write down which entrance and floor were easiest, where you waited and how long it took to return to the room. If a second adult will handle the next class, share those notes along with the booking message. On the next visit you can spend less time orienting yourself and give the child a familiar sequence from arrival to pickup.

If your plan keeps changing, simplify the waiting activity. A brief library stop or a takeaway order that can be collected after class is easier to adjust than a second appointment. Keep the class as the fixed point and fit the rest of the trip around it.
