The safest telemedicine Punggol residents can use comes from a Singapore-licensed provider. Polyclinic patients can book SingHealth video consultations and medicine delivery, while Doctor Anywhere and WhiteCoat offer video GP consultations around the clock. For chest pain, breathing trouble or signs of a stroke, call 995.
A video call cannot replace every clinic visit. It can save you a trip in the rain when you already feel terrible.

Telemedicine Options for Punggol Residents

Which Telemedicine Option Fits You
You already see Punggol Polyclinic
Ask about SingHealth’s video consultation. For a long-term condition, use the chronic-conditions service. You must book in person instead if you have not been seen for that condition for more than 18 months, are moving your care from another provider, or were recently discharged from hospital.
It is late at night
Doctor Anywhere and WhiteCoat both list overnight video consultations at a higher rate. If you would rather see someone face to face, our list of 24-hour and late-night GP clinics in Punggol shows what is open.
Your child is unwell
SingHealth’s video service is for adults only and directs children aged 3 to 17 to KK TelePaeds. For private apps, check whether they see children before you start. Our paediatric clinics page lists in-person options.
You need a medical certificate
HealthHub says MCs are issued only when medically necessary, as a scanned MC or a digital MC. Booking a call does not guarantee one.
The haze is bad
Our haze telemedicine guide explains which haze symptoms suit a video call and how the haze subsidy works at participating clinics.
How to Use Telemedicine in Punggol Safely
- Check the licence. Telemedicine providers are licensed under the Healthcare Services Act. Look them up in HealthHub’s directory of licensed providers.
- Write things down first. Note your symptoms, when they started, your medicines, allergies and any recent treatment.
- Find the right spot. HealthHub suggests a quiet, private, well-lit space with good internet.
- Have ID ready. Keep your NRIC, work pass or Singpass to hand.
- Say where you are. Share your current location at the start, so emergency services can reach you if needed.
- Choose live video. HealthHub recommends live video where possible, rather than chat alone.
- Sort out the medicine. Confirm your delivery address and that someone will be home, or arrange to collect.
Rules Worth Knowing
- No digital prescriptions. HealthHub says medicines are delivered to you or collected from a clinic or pharmacy, and no digital prescriptions are provided.
- Overseas apps are a dead end. Overseas providers are not licensed under the Healthcare Services Act, and licensed Singapore pharmacies do not accept prescriptions from overseas doctors.
- Controlled drugs are covered by strict rules, so ask the provider before you book if that is what you need.
- Not for every case. SingHealth excludes emergencies, psychiatric conditions and people with visual, hearing, memory or cognitive impairment unless a capable caregiver joins the call. New patients who want to transfer their care must book in person first.
Costs and Subsidies
Compare like with like. Doctor Anywhere’s listed fees include GST but not medicine. WhiteCoat’s exclude GST, medicine and delivery. SingHealth does not publish its video consultation fees on the service pages.
In 2021, MOH said that patients who want to use CHAS or MediSave for a chronic-condition video follow-up should check that the provider is on its voluntary listing of direct telemedicine providers. The rules may have changed since, so ask the provider first. For haze-period subsidies, see our haze telemedicine guide.
Neighbour’s Tips for Telemedicine
- Update HealthHub now. SingHealth sends the video link by SMS and the HealthHub app, so an old number means a missed call.
- Log in five minutes early for a SingHealth video consultation, as the polyclinic asks.
- Watch the clock. Doctor Anywhere’s GP fee rises from $27.25 to $49.05 at 9pm. WhiteCoat’s weekday fee goes from $25 to $35 at 8pm.
- Keep the medicine boxes beside you. Reading the label out is faster than guessing.
- Read clinic notices. When Raffles Medical’s Punggol Coast Mall clinic had no GP consultations on 1 October 2026, its notice pointed patients to telemedicine or the Waterway Point clinic.
- Plan repeat medicines early. See our guide to HealthHub medication refills.
If It Is Urgent
- Call 995 for chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe abdominal pain, signs of a stroke, sudden loss of vision, fits, a severe injury or bleeding, a severe allergic reaction, or an overdose. SingHealth lists these as unsuitable for video consultation.
- Non-emergency ambulance: call 1777.
- Not sure which hospital: see our nearest hospitals guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is telemedicine allowed in Singapore?
Yes. Telemedicine providers are licensed under the Healthcare Services Act. Check a provider in HealthHub’s directory of licensed providers before you book.
Can I see a Punggol Polyclinic doctor by video?
Yes, if you are 18 or over and your condition suits a video call. SingHealth runs separate services for general and chronic conditions, each with its own exclusions. New patients who want to transfer their care must book in person first.
How much does an online GP consultation cost?
At the time of checking in October 2026, Doctor Anywhere listed $27.25 by day and $49.05 from 9pm, with GST. WhiteCoat listed $25 to $40 depending on the time and day, before GST. Medicine is extra.
How do I get my medicine after a video consultation?
It is delivered, or you collect it from a clinic or pharmacy. Doctor Anywhere offers free delivery after a video consultation. WhiteCoat says delivery can take as little as 90 minutes.
Can I get an MC from a video consultation?
Only if the doctor finds it medically necessary. It comes as a scanned MC or a digital MC.
Can I use an overseas telemedicine app?
It is not a good idea. Overseas providers are not licensed in Singapore, and local pharmacies will not fill their prescriptions.

A Doctor on Your Screen, When It Fits
Telemedicine works best for simple, stable problems and planned follow-ups. Pick a licensed provider, have your notes and medicine boxes ready, and know your 995 signs. When a video call is not enough, the doctor will tell you to come in, and that is the system working as it should.
