Pharmacies in Punggol: Where to Go, Hours and Tips

Waterway Point with Watertown condominium above

Looking for pharmacies in Punggol? The quickest answer is Waterway Point, directly linked to Punggol MRT and LRT. It has Watsons, Guardian and Unity under one roof, and Watsons’ pharmacist counter there runs from 10am to 9pm daily. For medicines prescribed at Punggol Polyclinic, collect them at the polyclinic pharmacy in Oasis Terraces. After about 10pm, the shops close, so a 24-hour GP becomes your best option.

Here is the good news: three pharmacy chains share one mall at the MRT, so one trip usually sorts it out.

This page is part of eduKate Punggol’s Essential Information for Punggol, our quick answers and where-to-go lists for everyday life in Punggol. Below you will find where each pharmacy is, which ones have a pharmacist, what to bring, and what to do when it is late and the shutters are down.

Quick answer

  • One-stop option: Waterway Point (83 Punggol Central), linked to Punggol MRT, Punggol LRT and the bus interchange. Watsons and Guardian are on B1 and Unity is on B2.
  • Pharmacist hours: at Watsons Waterway Point, the pharmacy counter (10am–9pm) has shorter hours than the shop (9.30am–10pm).
  • Polyclinic prescriptions: Punggol Polyclinic, Oasis Terraces #02-01, next to Oasis LRT. Call 6643 6969 for enquiries.
  • Late at night: we could not confirm any 24-hour pharmacy in Punggol. Use a 24-hour GP clinic, and for emergencies call 995.
  • Bring: your prescription or medicine box, a list of what you already take, and your child’s weight if the medicine is for a child.

Where to Find Pharmacies in Punggol

Not every health-and-beauty shop has a pharmacist on duty. In the table below, a pharmacy counter is marked only where the store page or listing says there is one. A shop without one can still sell plasters, vitamins and many everyday medicines. It cannot give you a pharmacist’s advice.

Hours were checked in October 2026. Shops change their hours, especially on public holidays, so confirm on the official page before you go. The Guardian and Unity details, and anything marked “check live”, come from mall and partner listings rather than the retailer’s own page, so check live before a special trip. The authoritative list of licensed retail pharmacies is kept by HSA and published as Retail pharmacy locations on data.gov.sg.

Which Pharmacy Fits What You Need

You want a pharmacist’s advice

Go to Waterway Point during pharmacy hours. With three chains a short walk apart, you can ask at one counter and compare at another without leaving the building. Watsons publishes its pharmacist hours. For Guardian and Unity, a quick phone call saves a wasted trip.

You have a polyclinic prescription

Medicines prescribed at Punggol Polyclinic are dispensed by the polyclinic’s own pharmacy at Oasis Terraces. If you are on long-term medicine, ask about SingHealth’s PILBOX lockers and medicine delivery. Our Punggol Polyclinic guide explains how they work.

You just need the basics

For plasters, sunscreen, cough sweets, a thermometer or children’s paracetamol syrup, any of the stores above will do. Pick the one that is already on your route.

It is after 10pm

We could not confirm any retail pharmacy in Punggol that stays open all night. A 24-hour GP clinic can see you, and the clinic will tell you how to get your medicine. See our list of 24-hour and late-night GP clinics in Punggol.

How to Get Help at a Punggol Pharmacy

  1. Check the time first. If you want a pharmacist, go during pharmacy hours, not just shop hours.
  2. Bring the evidence. Bring your prescription, the old medicine box, or a photo of the label. “The small white one” is hard to match.
  3. Say who it is for. Tell the pharmacist the person’s age, weight (for children), any allergies, whether they are pregnant or breastfeeding, and what else they take.
  4. Describe the problem simply. Say what the symptoms are, when they started, and what you have already tried.
  5. Ask the two key questions. How much, how often and for how long? And when should I see a doctor instead?
  6. Keep the label. Take a photo of the dosing instructions before the box goes in the recycling bin.

What a Pharmacist Can Help With

Watsons runs its pharmacies inside selected key stores, with services such as medication dispensing and review. Unity’s Waterway Point listing says its pharmacists can advise on health concerns, dispense medication, review medicines, advise on managing chronic conditions and check for drug interactions (check live).

It helps to know how Singapore sorts medicines, as HSA explains. General sale list medicines can be bought off the shelf from pharmacies, clinics and other shops. Pharmacy-only medicines can be obtained from a pharmacist without a doctor’s prescription. Prescription-only medicines must be prescribed by a doctor.

So a pharmacist is a good person to ask about a suitable over-the-counter remedy, how to take a medicine, and whether it clashes with what you already take. If the pharmacist suggests you see a doctor instead, take that advice seriously. It is given to protect you.

Pharmacists are also good people to ask about the pile of medicines in your kitchen drawer. Bring them in a bag. Ask which ones are still needed, which ones overlap, and which ones should go. For what to do with old medicines, see our guide to expired medicine disposal in Punggol.

Neighbour’s Tips for Pharmacies in Punggol

  • Know your level. At Waterway Point, Guardian and Watsons are on B1 and Unity is on B2. If you come from the MRT with a crying toddler, that saves a lap of the mall.
  • Mind the 9pm gap. The Watsons pharmacy counter closes an hour before the shop. Late shoppers sometimes find the shelves open but the pharmacist gone.
  • Combine errands at Punggol Plaza. Unity there sits inside FairPrice on level 3, so the medicine and the groceries can go in one trolley.
  • Order repeat medicines early. For polyclinic top-ups and deliveries, our polyclinic guide notes that you need several working days. Do not wait for the last strip of tablets.
  • Call before public holidays. Watsons says hours may differ on public holidays. The same is sensible for every store.
  • Keep a medicine list on your phone. Write down each medicine’s name, strength and how often you take it. It helps at every counter, clinic and hospital.
  • For children, use their weight. Many children’s doses go by weight, so weigh your child before you go if you can.

If It Is Urgent or Out of Hours

  • Emergency (chest pain, difficulty breathing, a serious allergic reaction, a seizure, or a suspected overdose): call 995.
  • Non-emergency ambulance: call 1777.
  • Unwell at night but not in danger: use a 24-hour GP. See our guide to what is open 24 hours in Punggol.
  • Not sure where to go: our nearest hospitals guide explains when to choose A&E and which hospital to head for.

Waterway Point, which is directly linked to Punggol MRT, Punggol LRT and the bus interchange. It has Watsons and Guardian on B1 and Unity on B2.

How early should I order a polyclinic medicine top-up?

Our polyclinic guide (checked 3 October 2026) says to allow at least 7 working days for a top-up request and at least 5 working days for a delivery order. If you use a PILBOX locker, collect within 2 days of the “ready for collection” SMS.

Where do I collect medicine from Punggol Polyclinic?

At the polyclinic’s pharmacy at Oasis Terraces, #02-01. For long-term medicines, ask about SingHealth’s PILBOX lockers and delivery options. Our polyclinic guide has the details.

No. Watsons runs pharmacies in selected stores only. In Punggol, the Waterway Point store lists one and the Punggol Plaza store does not. Check the store page or call before you make a special trip.

How do I get rid of old or expired medicines?

Most can go out with ordinary rubbish, but some, such as antibiotics, anti-cancer medicines and controlled drugs, should go back to where they were dispensed. Our medicine disposal guide walks through it.
