A good haircut should not need a day out. In Punggol, you can usually fit one in between the MRT and the supermarket, often without booking at all.

Hours checked October 2026 — confirm on the official page before you go: kcuts outlets and the Waterway Point store directory. Most listings date from 2024, so check that a salon is still trading. Further out, mall listings show more salons at The Seletar Mall (including another Clippers Barber and NK Hairworks) and at Rivervale Mall (including kcuts and Myeongdong Hair Studio). We could not verify barbers or salons in Punggol’s HDB shops.
Which Salon Fits Your Haircut
A quick trim on the way home
kcuts has three Punggol outlets, and its FAQ says no appointment is needed. You join the queue on the app, so you may be able to run a nearby errand while you wait. Keep an eye on the queue number.
A wriggly toddler
kcuts says it can only serve children and toddlers who can sit upright independently and are calm. Some kcuts outlets have stylists with child-friendly certification. On its official list, the nearest outlet marked “Child-friendly” is at The Seletar Mall, not in Punggol. QB House Kids at Waterway Point has a play area, which can help, but we could not confirm its age rules, so call first.
Colour, perm or a big change
Book a salon appointment. Jean Yip is on B1, and Apgujeong, NK Hairworks and Vintage Studio are on Level 1. Call ahead, describe what you want, check that the salon offers it, and ask how long it will take. A photo of the look you are after helps.
A barber’s cut
Clippers Barber at Punggol Coast Mall is the barber we found inside Punggol (check live). LA Barbershop at Compass One, Sengkang, focuses on men’s grooming.
How to Queue at kcuts
- Get the kcutsGO app. kcuts’ FAQ says you buy an e-ticket and check in through the app.
- Choose your outlet. Pick Waterway Point, Punggol Coast Mall or Punggol Plaza, and check in.
- Watch your queue number. You are served by number, not by arrival time, so stay close as your turn nears.
- If you miss your number, you can re-queue up to twice. After that, the ticket is forfeited.
- Pay the way the outlet accepts. The app takes PayNow, credit card and NETS. Some outlets sell cash tickets at the counter, and cash goes through a self-payment kiosk at selected outlets: exact amounts only, with no change given.
- For a child, make sure they can sit upright on their own and are calm before you queue.
Preparing a Child for a Haircut
- Go when your child is fed and rested, not just before a nap.
- Bring a small toy or book to hold, and a spare top in case cut hair gets itchy.
- Show a photo of the cut you want. “A bit shorter” means different things to different people.
- Tell the stylist about sensitive ears or a fear of clippers before they start.
- Praise the sitting still, not just the result.
Costs
We have not quoted prices. kcuts does not publish them on its FAQ, and we could not check the other salons’ own pages. Ask for the price before the cut starts, especially for colour or treatments, where it can depend on hair length.
Neighbour’s Tips for Hair Salons in Punggol
- Mind the levels at Waterway Point. kcuts is on B2 and QB House Kids is on Level 2, so check which one you mean before you meet someone there.

- Carry exact change. If you pay cash at a kcuts kiosk, no change is given.
- Weekend salon hours can be shorter. Jean Yip is listed as closing at 7.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Call Punggol Coast Mall salons first. Their hours and phone numbers were not in the sources we could check.
- Get school haircuts done in the holidays. A cut a week or two before term starts avoids the last-minute scramble.
