Care in a parent’s own home is outside ECDA’s Childminding Pilot. ECDA says pilot childminders provide services from their residential homes or community spaces.
If you want a childminder to come to your Punggol home, ECDA says such arrangements can be made outside the pilot. Do not assume the funded pilot fees or other pilot arrangements apply to that private service.
Before booking, confirm the exact care location and whether the offer is under the pilot or a separate arrangement. That distinction affects which terms you should ask the provider to explain.
CHAPTER 1 OF 3
Understand why the setting matters
The ECDA parents’-homes FAQ makes the location distinction explicit.
In its explanation of pilot settings, ECDA says childminders’ homes and community spaces can accommodate more than one infant, supporting affordability and reach.
CHAPTER 2 OF 3
If you prefer care at your home
Ask the provider for a separate description and quotation for the service. Clarify the caregiver, hours, responsibilities, cancellation terms and how concerns would be handled.
Request confirmation of which checks, training and support the provider undertakes for that particular offer. Do not infer them merely because the same organisation also provides pilot services.
CHAPTER 3 OF 3
If you are open to a pilot setting
Ask an appointed operator which locations it can currently offer and how the journey would fit your required hours. This guide does not confirm a Punggol care location.
For planning, read pilot care hours and published pilot fees.
Information checked on 18 October 2026. Confirm current pilot requirements, availability and the details of your arrangement with the appointed operator.
