The Childminding Pilot’s funded care arrangements are described by ECDA as a maximum ten-hour block within 7am to 7pm on weekdays. That twelve-hour window should not be read as twelve funded hours of care.
Parents needing more than ten hours or care outside the usual weekday window can discuss additional options with operators. ECDA says these are based on the operators’ regular rates.
For Punggol parents, confirm the actual start and collection times an operator can offer. The general hours guidance does not guarantee evening, weekend, extended-hour or local availability.
CHAPTER 1 OF 3
Distinguish the window from your booking
Read ECDA’s explanation of the pilot’s hours. It links the ten-hour limit with balancing childminders’ work and personal commitments.
Write down your required drop-off and collection times before enquiring. For example, a proposed 8am–6pm arrangement is ten hours, but it still requires an operator to confirm it can offer those times.
CHAPTER 2 OF 3
Ask separately about additional care
If you need an earlier start, later finish or another arrangement, explain the whole request. Ask which part, if any, is offered under the pilot and which part would be a separate arrangement.
Request a written schedule and quotation. Do not infer that an operator’s willingness to discuss options means it has accepted the booking.
CHAPTER 3 OF 3
Plan for the actual daily journey
Include travel and handover time when deciding whether an offered block fits your day. Identify who can collect your infant if work or transport delays occur.
Ask the operator about late collection and backup-care procedures. These are practical planning questions, not a statement that every operator provides the same flexibility.
