PressReader provides digital newspapers and magazines through NLB. Punggol readers can start through NLB Mobile or NLB’s eResources website, but the publications available depend on the access route and location.
NLB’s official PressReader FAQ says selected SPH Media newspapers require onsite library access, such as a device connected to the library’s Wireless@SGx and opening PressReader directly. Ordinary remote access does not provide the same selection.
For app access, use eNewspapers & eMagazines in NLB Mobile and follow the prompt to open PressReader. For a computer, search PressReader on NLB eResources and sign in through the official myLibrary route.

Remote access and library access differ
The FAQ describes one-hour sessions launched through NLB Mobile, which can be reopened through the app. It separately describes three-day Hotspot access obtained at a library, with local-newspaper restrictions still applying.
Identify which route you are using before assuming a title is missing from the collection. Seeing PressReader open does not by itself establish the same access as a library-connected session.
Check before paying for another subscription
NLB explains that a separate PressReader account is optional for access and can be used for personalised features. It is not the same thing as your myLibrary account.
If you see a payment request while trying to use NLB access, pause and check the official instructions and connection. Do not enter card details merely because a publication cover is visible; make sure you understand which service is offering access.
Choose a useful newspaper-reading task
As a practical reading habit, choose one article and identify its date, main claim and supporting evidence. Then compare coverage of the same event in another publication if that would help your understanding.
For students, distinguish reporting, analysis and opinion rather than treating every newspaper page as the same type of source. An article can be useful for discussion without automatically being authoritative on every detail.
Use the service that matches the material
PressReader, Libby and other NLB newspaper services have different collections and conditions. Check the current title and access instructions instead of assuming one app replaces them all.
Our Libby and eBook guide covers a different digital route. Use the Punggol Library guide to plan an onsite visit if that is the access your chosen publication needs.
