If you lose an NLB membership card or another library-compliant card used for borrowing, report it through NLB’s official Report Lost Card page. It links to the Loss of Card form.
You can also seek staff help at a public library except Chinatown Library. NLB states that a submitted loss report is processed immediately and the reported card can no longer be used at its public libraries.
NLB warns that charges incurred using an unreported lost card, including lost-item and reservation fees, are charged to your library account. Retracing your steps and making an official report are separate tasks; a public lost-and-found post is not an NLB loss report.

Use the official reporting process
Open the form from NLB’s own page so you reach the intended service. Follow its current identification and submission instructions rather than sending card details to an unofficial account.
Keep any confirmation or reference the process provides. This is useful practical record-keeping, not a claim that every reporting channel issues the same receipt or follows an identical screen sequence.
Separate the library report from other card functions
A library-compliant card may have a purpose outside library borrowing. NLB’s published statement concerns its use at public libraries; it does not describe cancellation of every other service associated with that card.
If the lost item is also an identity, payment or transport card, follow the relevant issuer’s loss procedure separately. Do not assume that reporting through one organisation informs all the others.
Check your loans and account questions
Review your library account and note anything you do not recognise. Ask NLB to clarify disputed or unfamiliar entries through its official assistance route, without publishing personal loan or identification details online.
Reporting a missing card should not be assumed to return books already on loan or erase an existing balance. Check the current account position and ask what action is needed for each unresolved item.
Replacement and future borrowing
Ask NLB how to resume borrowing and whether a replacement or another accepted method is appropriate. This guide does not publish an unverified replacement fee, collection point or turnaround time.
For local orientation, use our Punggol Library guide. If the issue is account registration rather than a lost card, the separate NLB membership guide explains the starting routes.
