Matilda Edge was launched in Punggol in September 2013, with applications running from 26 September to 2 October. The development offered 1,330 two-room, three-room and four-room Standard flats.
Located at Sumang Lane and Punggol Way, Matilda Edge comprised nine residential blocks. Its launch figures included 192 two-room flats, 538 three-room flats and 600 four-room flats.
The September exercise also included The Verandah at Matilda and Waterway View, but they were separate projects. Matilda Edge’s history should therefore be traced through its own housing offer rather than through every flat type mentioned in the national announcement.

The contemporary sales table divides the two-room supply into 64 smaller and 128 larger units. Together with the three-room and four-room homes, these add up to the project’s 1,330 flats.
The three-room flats had a published indicative price range of $176,000–$215,000 before grants; four-room flats ranged from $279,000–$343,000. Those figures belong to the 2013 offer, not today’s market.
A headline about the launch of 3Gen flats in the same national exercise is not evidence that Matilda Edge offered them. The project-specific table is the better guide to what was actually available here.
The project specification corroborates the nine-block scale and records planned shops, an education centre, a Residents’ Committee centre and a senior care centre.
These facilities show that the proposal addressed more than the private flat interior. Learning, local coordination and older residents’ needs were part of the precinct description.
Planned use is nevertheless not the same thing as an opening date. A launch document can show what was intended without proving exactly when a service began operating.
For another Sumang Lane development, see the Matilda Court history. Reading the two separately makes the sequence clearer: Edge’s September 2013 launch preceded Court’s July 2014 offer.
