SIT’s Centre for Infrastructure and Tunnel Engineering (CITE) was established with the Land Transport Authority. It supports civil-engineering research and professional development involving tunnels, bridges and other transport infrastructure.
For CITE research, industry or course enquiries, email CITE@SingaporeTech.edu.sg. The official CITE page explains the centre’s work and lists courses and previous events.
Read course dates carefully: the page’s TE1 registration deadlines include September and October 2023. Those deadlines have passed. If you are searching for tunnel-engineering training at SIT Punggol in 2026, ask for a current intake and confirmed venue rather than treating an old Apply Now button as an available place.

Research across the infrastructure lifecycle
CITE describes work spanning design, construction and maintenance, including automated defect detection, structural monitoring, repairs and rehabilitation. Its remit extends beyond the construction of a new tunnel.
For practical enquiry planning, state where the issue occurs in that lifecycle. A design question, an installation problem and a maintenance concern may need different information and expertise. This guide explains how to approach the centre; it does not provide site-specific engineering advice.
Training and professional requirements
The website describes specialist tunnel-engineering courses and industry knowledge sharing. It also records an Infrastructure Insights workshop held on 13–14 October 2025, which is a past event as of this guide’s check date.
Ask the course team about the current syllabus, prerequisites, assessment, fees and professional recognition. Attending a course should not be assumed to complete every requirement for specialist registration; confirm the applicable route before enrolling.
Prepare an industry enquiry
Introduce your organisation, project stage and the question you want investigated. Offer a short, non-confidential description of the structure or process and the intended outcome. Ask what technical documentation would be needed for an initial discussion.
Before sending drawings or records, establish the appropriate sharing arrangements. Request clarity on scope, costs, deliverables and responsibilities if the discussion leads towards a commissioned project.
Confirm where to meet
An industry research centre is not a public tunnel-tour booking service. Arrange a meeting or event registration first, then request the exact building, room and arrival instructions from the host.
Our SIT Punggol Campus guide provides wider orientation. For a different construction-research centre, see the CTIL guide; use each centre’s own contact for its activities.
