Punggol Regalia launched on 30 December 2008 in HDB’s final sales exercise of that year. It offered 729 homes: 546 four-room flats and 183 five-room flats.
The Punggol project was launched alongside Sunshine Court in Choa Chu Kang. The combined exercise offered 1,181 flats; that total should not be mistaken for the number of homes at Regalia alone.
For readers researching Punggol Regalia history, the late-2008 launch is a sales milestone. Contemporary reporting described premium flats near the future Punggol town centre, not a completed estate already occupied by buyers.

The launch that crossed into January 2009 · How the launch account places Regalia in the town
A preserved copy of Channel NewsAsia’s 30 December 2008 report records an application window from 30 December to 12 January.
The exercise therefore began in one calendar year and closed in the next. That does not make Regalia a January 2009 launch.
A contemporary Punggol project account also identifies the four-room and five-room mix and the project code Punggol West C25.
The report’s reference to a future town centre is historically important. It tells us what buyers were being asked to imagine alongside their proposed homes.
Launch descriptions and later neighbourhood experience are different kinds of evidence. A planned amenity may become familiar years later, but the earlier wording should still be preserved accurately.
The unit arithmetic is straightforward: 546 plus 183 equals 729. The larger 1,181 figure belongs to the two-project exercise.
This article records the sales opening and application period, without assigning an unsupported date for construction completion or first occupation.
