SIT Punggol Makerspace is named among the public-access areas in Singapore Institute of Technology’s campus FAQ. SIT identifies public spaces at Campus Boulevard, Level 2, and below. This is not a blanket permission for visitors to operate machinery or enter every university laboratory.
SIT’s Explore Spaces page describes its makerspace as integrated with the library and collaborative spaces to support experiential learning. It does not provide a public equipment-hire tariff, walk-in workshop timetable or visitor machine-booking procedure.
Before travelling for a specific making activity, contact SIT to confirm the location, access arrangements and whether your proposed use is available. Ask about induction, supervision and eligibility if tools or equipment are involved; do not assume public access means unsupervised use.

Separate access from tool use
Read the public-access FAQ on SIT’s Punggol Campus page. The university gives students and staff priority for facilities, with external requests handled case by case.
Follow staff instructions and posted boundaries. Being allowed to visit a space does not establish permission to use its tools, borrow materials, run an event or bring a project onto a workstation.
Ask about the activity you want
Use the Explore Spaces page for the learning-space context, then prepare a specific enquiry: project type, participant ages, group size and preferred date.
Ask which equipment is relevant and whether a supported session is possible. Confirm any required training, protective equipment, fee or staff supervision before buying materials or promising the activity to children.
Check the precise location
Do not substitute an older article about SkillsCraft at Punggol 21 CC for current campus directions. A historic community programme and a university campus makerspace are not automatically the same venue or booking route.
Ask for the block, floor and meeting point. The SIT contact guide helps you start an enquiry if the relevant office is not yet clear.
Choose the appropriate alternative
If you want a public library making programme, compare the separate MakeIT at Punggol Library guide. NLB’s service has its own registration and equipment arrangements.
For either venue, book only through the appropriate official route and keep the confirmation. The photograph here shows SIT’s campus exterior, not an equipment inventory or proof of public machine availability.
