SIT Punggol lectorials combine lecture and tutorial functions in a teaching space designed for both explanation and group discussion. Superlabs are flexible teaching laboratories where several student groups can learn simultaneously. These names describe learning environments, not public attractions or drop-in study rooms.
SIT’s teaching academy lists lectorials across E2, E3, E6, W3 and W5 at Punggol Campus. Students should follow their own timetable’s block, level and room code rather than travelling to a generic “SIT lectorial” location.
For a lectorial, prepare to listen and discuss; for a superlab, check the module’s instructions before attending. Public access to parts of SIT Punggol Campus does not by itself authorise entry to a scheduled teaching session or use of laboratory equipment.

How a lectorial works
The SIT Teaching and Learning Academy guide describes tiered spaces that support conventional teaching and small-group discussion, with students able to turn towards one another.
Think of the room as allowing the class to change gears: a lecturer explains an idea, then students can work through it together. The particular activity depends on the module; the room name does not guarantee that every lesson follows the same sequence.
What makes a superlab different
SIT’s Explore Spaces page describes laboratory bench clusters with their own audiovisual support and demonstration areas, allowing different classes to operate in the same larger space.
Check which group and bench area you have been assigned. Follow the teaching team’s instructions about equipment, protective clothing and permitted materials; do not assume that another group’s setup is available for your activity.
Prepare for your first session
Read the timetable entry and module announcements together. Bring the materials specified by the teaching team, and check whether preparatory reading, an online task or a worksheet is due before class.
Allow time to identify the correct block on the first day. Our SIT Punggol transport and blocks guide can help with arrival planning. If a room code changes, the latest module notice should guide your route.
Teaching access and room hire are different
A student attending a timetabled lesson, an organiser hiring a venue and a member of the public exploring campus have different reasons for being there. Do not treat a room’s appearance on a campus webpage as an open invitation to enter.
For an external event, use SIT’s formal venue-hire route rather than a teaching-room booking intended for the university community. See our SIT venue-hire guide and confirm access, room setup and arrangements before inviting participants.
