Report a Scam Message in ScamShield: Punggol Screenshot and Submission Guide

Three learners review open books together at a classroom table, with stacks of textbooks, stationery and a whiteboard in the bright room.

Punggol residents can report a suspected scam message through the ScamShield app. Open the app’s reporting option, begin a report, choose Message and select the platform where the message arrived.

You can paste the message or upload a screenshot already saved on your phone. Review the report before submitting, especially information extracted from the screenshot. You do not need to open a suspicious web link to describe the message.

A ScamShield app report is not an official police report. If you have fallen for a scam or lost money, use the official police reporting route as well. The app submission helps report suspicious content; it does not itself recover a payment.

Save the message without interacting

As practical preparation, capture the sender information and the request in the same screenshot where possible. Keep the original conversation while you work rather than relying only on a forwarded copy.

Do not reply, download an attachment or make a small payment to test whether the sender is genuine. If a family member received the message, help them preserve what they saw without spreading private details.

Choose the right message platform

The official app guide lets you select the platform, then provide text or a screenshot. Follow the current screen labels if the app’s appearance has changed.

Check that you selected the platform where the message actually arrived. A copied message in a family chat may conceal the original sender, so explain that limitation rather than guessing.

Review before submitting

Compare the report with the saved message. Correct an incorrectly extracted number, sender or link before submission, and keep your description focused on what the sender requested.

Authorities review reports before suspicious content is marked in the ScamShield database. Do not assume your submission instantly blocks the sender or that another message from the same source is therefore safe.

Separate reporting from immediate help

If money has been lost, the official ScamShield guidance directs users to file a police report. Keep the app report and police-report reference distinct so you know which process each acknowledgement belongs to.

For questions about an uncertain message, use the Punggol ScamShield 1799 guide. Share a general warning with your household while keeping screenshots containing identity or account information out of public chats.
