Planning a piped-gas hob or appliance installation in Punggol? EMA requires piped-gas appliances to be installed by a licensed worker. Use EMA’s ELISE service to find or verify a licensed gas service worker before agreeing to the installation.
The licensed worker must issue a written statement confirming that the appliance has been tested and is safe to use. For your Punggol kitchen, include this document in the booking discussion rather than discovering after installation that nobody has explained the testing or handover.
This guide covers planned piped-gas work, not an active leak or emergency. If you suspect a leak, stop the installation discussion and follow the immediate-safety guidance in our Punggol gas-leak guide. Do not test a gas connection yourself.

Verify the individual doing the work
Enter ELISE from EMA’s official page below and select the appropriate gas-worker search. Ask the installer for their name and licence number so you can check the individual, not just the retailer’s branding.
ELISE distinguishes gas-worker categories. Ask the worker to confirm that their licence covers the proposed job; do not assume an electrical or plumbing qualification is a gas-service licence.
Confirm the appliance and gas supply
Give the supplier the exact appliance model and explain that the installation is for your existing Punggol home. Ask them to confirm suitability for the actual gas supply and the installation arrangements.
This article is about piped gas. Do not apply its booking advice automatically to bottled LPG, another fuel or an unfamiliar installation. Request guidance for your specific appliance and supply.
Agree responsibilities before delivery
Ask whether the purchase price includes installation, who appoints the licensed worker, and which parts or additional visits may be charged separately. Keep the appliance purchase and installation scope clear.
If cabinetry or renovation is also involved, agree how the retailer, renovation contractor and licensed worker will coordinate. Do not let an uncertain connection arrangement become a last-minute DIY task.
Keep the safety statement and handover
At completion, request the written testing-and-safety statement described by EMA, together with the invoice and appliance instructions. Ask the worker to explain normal operation and what to do if a problem develops.
For a piped-gas appliance that is not working, EMA advises consulting the appliance supplier or a licensed worker. Keep those service contacts accessible; an ordinary service booking must not replace emergency action for a suspected leak.
