Punggol Void Deck and Multi-Purpose Hall Bookings: Rates and Event Planning

Three students in school uniforms work through open books at a classroom table, with textbooks and stationery nearby and study notes on the whiteboard behind them.

To book a Punggol Town Council void deck, multi-purpose hall or designated open space, check the facility and event category through the council’s official booking information. Its page says facility booking is available six months before the event date and links applicants to the OneService app.

For listed social events such as birthdays and wedding receptions, the published rental is $50 per day with a $100 deposit. Electricity is listed at $10 per point per day and water at $8 per point per day. These components are separate; the rental alone is not the complete event budget.

The council says refundable deposits are credited to the identified S&CC account. Confirm the application, charges, utility needs, documents and approved use before arranging suppliers. An available-looking void deck is not confirmation that your event has been booked.

Choose the facility before booking suppliers

Identify the exact block, facility and proposed date. Ask whether the space can accommodate the intended event and what areas the booking covers.

Do not assume a covered area beside the booked space is included. Confirm where tables, equipment and guests may be placed so that planning stays within the approved area.

Give the event category accurately

Different functions have different listed charges and documentation. A birthday, wedding, wake or religious event should not be submitted under whichever category appears cheapest.

For weddings, the page lists a marriage certificate or ROM application acknowledgement as supporting documentation. Check the current requirements for your function rather than copying another organiser’s old checklist.

Calculate the components separately

Start with the applicable rental, then add the confirmed utility requirements and any deposit. For illustration, one day at the listed social-event rate with one electricity point and one water point totals $68 in those listed charges, plus the $100 deposit.

That example excludes catering, furniture, equipment and any other applicable cost. Confirm how points and days are counted for your arrangement before treating an arithmetic example as your quotation.

Ask about setup and clear-up time

Tell the council when suppliers need access and when the space will be cleared. The hours guests attend may be shorter than the time the event equipment occupies the facility.

Ask about permitted equipment, utility access and any restrictions relevant to your plans. Do not assume a booked electricity point supports every appliance or that a venue booking approves all proposed activities.

Back to contents · Next: Keep confirmation and deposit records

Keep confirmation and deposit records

Save the approval and payment details before issuing invitations that depend on the venue. Make sure the organiser and suppliers use the same confirmed location and date.

Keep the deposit terms and identified S&CC account clear. A credit to an account is different from receiving cash at the end of the event. The Punggol S&CC guide explains checking the household account.

Back to contents · Next: Plan around shared access

Plan around shared access

Make a practical layout that respects the approved area and leaves required access unobstructed. Give suppliers explicit instructions about unloading, equipment placement and cleanup.

If the date or event scope changes, ask how to amend the booking before proceeding. For a damaged facility observed before your event, report its exact location through the council or the OneService channel; reporting it does not amend the booking automatically.
