Before using Child Development Account funds at a Punggol preschool or healthcare provider, check the official CDA guidance and its Approved Institution search. Confirm both the institution and the expense you want to pay.
CDA funds are for approved child-related expenses at Approved Institutions, not unrestricted cash spending. A familiar provider name or a payment terminal does not by itself answer whether your particular bill can be paid from the CDA.
For Punggol parents, the useful question is specific: is this provider approved, is this charge an approved expense, and what payment arrangement applies? Check before the appointment or fee deadline, especially when relying on older information.

Find the provider through the official route
Open the Approved Institution search linked from LifeSG’s CDA page. Identify the provider you intend to use rather than assuming every outlet with a similar name has the same status.
Keep the provider’s full name and location with your appointment or enrolment record. If the listing is unclear, ask the provider to clarify the relevant institution details before making a payment plan.

Check the individual expense
LifeSG separates eligible uses by institution category. Preschool charges and medical expenses follow their applicable rules; an institution’s approval does not mean every item on an invoice is eligible.
Ask for an itemised explanation when a bill combines several charges. It is easier to clarify each item before payment than to discover afterwards that your assumed payment method was not available.

Avoid outdated pharmacy and optical assumptions
MSF announced that CDA use at optical shops and retail pharmacies would end from 1 January 2026. Do not use an older list or sticker as the basis for planning those purchases.
Check the current rules and ask how the specific purchase will be paid. This guide does not certify any named Punggol shop, clinic or preschool as an Approved Institution.

Confirm arrangements and keep the record
Ask the provider how it accepts CDA payment and what setup is required for your bill. Keep the receipt and the explanation of eligible charges with your child’s records.
If there is uncertainty about the rules, use the official guidance and enquiry channels. Distinguish a payment-setup problem from a question about expense eligibility so you can direct the enquiry clearly.
