Punggol parents can use LifeSG’s Baby Bonus service to check the application route. For a Singapore citizen child born in Singapore, the application can be part of birth registration; already-registered children, new citizens and adopted children have a direct application route.
The parent who submits the Baby Bonus application becomes the nominated Child Development Account trustee and Child Savings Account joint account holder. After successful enrolment, follow the email and LifeSG inbox instructions to open the accounts with the selected bank.
Current LifeSG guidance says the announced SG Child Support Package will replace the Baby Bonus and Large Families schemes. Parents can continue applying for Baby Bonus, and enrolled children will transition automatically. Check the official guidance for your child rather than relying on an old benefits table.

Identify your application stage
Write down whether you are still registering the birth or whether the child’s birth is already registered. Start with the route for that situation rather than submitting overlapping applications.
The main practical question is what remains unfinished. Separate an application that has not been submitted from one awaiting assessment, and separate both from a bank account that still needs opening.

Agree who will apply
Read the applicant requirements and trustee implications before submitting. Decide which parent will take responsibility for monitoring the application and completing the bank steps.
Keep that person’s contact details current. A household checklist can name the responsible parent and the next task without including passwords or banking credentials.

Complete the bank stage
Successful enrolment is followed by account-opening instructions. LifeSG lists POSB/DBS, OCBC and UOB as bank choices, with requirements that vary by customer circumstances.
Use the instructions for your chosen bank and ask the bank about a banking-app or portal problem. Do not assume that the account was opened merely because you selected a bank during the application.

Keep a clear progress record
Record the application date, any request for further information and whether the bank stage is complete. Check the applicant’s email and LifeSG inbox for the relevant update.
Use the help route linked on the official service page for unresolved enrolment questions. This article explains the process, not a guaranteed benefit amount or payment date for every Punggol family.
