If your child recently obtained Singapore citizenship, approach your Punggol preschool to arrange a new subsidy application. Do not assume the existing non-citizen enrolment record automatically becomes a subsidy application.
ECDA says the preschool needs to withdraw and re-enrol the child with updated citizenship details. Ask the centre to handle this record update and explain the application steps.
Confirm the applicable subsidy outcome and fee treatment for your child. The citizenship update should not be treated as a promise of a particular amount or automatic reimbursement of earlier fees.

Notify the preschool of the change
Use ECDA’s new-citizenship subsidy instructions. Tell staff that your child’s citizenship has changed and that you need the enrolment record updated.
Ask what evidence the centre needs and how to provide it securely. Keep the reply with your child’s enrolment records.

Clarify the record update
Ask staff to explain how it will carry out the required withdrawal and re-enrolment in its records. Do not cancel your child’s place independently because you saw the word “withdraw”.
If any step is unclear, confirm the intended start information and continued attendance arrangements with the centre.

Complete the new application
Follow the new invitation and the instructions given for your circumstances. Check the child’s identity and citizenship details before submitting.
Keep the correct application reference and confirmation. Avoid mixing an older invitation with the newly updated enrolment record.

Ask about the invoice
Request a clear explanation of which month and fees the approved subsidy will affect. Keep the outcome notification alongside the bill.
If an adjustment is expected, ask when and how it will be handled. Do not subtract an estimated amount from a payment without the centre’s agreement.
