Siblings in Punggol can receive different preschool subsidy amounts. ECDA explains that each child’s amount reflects family income and circumstances at the point of that child’s subsidy application.
A different amount is therefore not automatically a billing error. Compare the relevant applications and approved outcomes before assuming the children should receive identical subsidies.
If the difference is unclear, ask each preschool to explain the figure on its account. Separate the subsidy amount from the total fee and other charges so you compare like with like.
In this guide
CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Compare the application records
The ECDA sibling-subsidy explanation identifies the family’s circumstances when each application was made.
As a practical first step, collect each child’s application and outcome dates. Note what information was recorded rather than relying on the current household situation alone.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
Compare the same figures
Put the approved subsidy alongside the programme fee for each child. An invoice total is not itself the subsidy amount.
Ask the centre to identify the subsidy line if it is unclear. Keep deposits and other charges separate from the comparison.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Ask a precise question
A useful message is: “These are the two approved amounts and application dates. Could you explain what accounts for the difference?”
Provide the relevant records privately. Do not post your family’s income or children’s identity details in public comments to seek an answer.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
Do not assume automatic equalisation
If your circumstances have changed, ask what update or reassessment procedure applies. Do not assume one child’s new outcome automatically changes the other child’s account.
Keep the explanation and any required next step in writing. Where a figure seems inconsistent with an approval, ask the centre to reconcile that specific amount.
