Can Someone Else Collect My Child’s PSLE Results? A Punggol Parent’s Guide

Primary 6 students preparing for PSLE English in a small-group eduKate classroom in Singapore

If your child and parents cannot collect the hardcopy PSLE results, SEAB’s guidance allows parents to nominate a proxy aged 21 or above. Inform the school in advance, use the official authorisation form and confirm what documents the representative must bring.

Punggol parents should arrange the collection time and verification requirements directly with the school. Naming an adult in a family message is not a substitute for completing the school’s required authorisation and identification checks.

If no suitable proxy is available, contact the school for assistance. This guide explains how to prepare the authorised collection, secure the documents and keep track of the school-selection actions that follow results release.

CHAPTER 1 OF 5

Contact the school before results day

Tell the school that the child and parents cannot collect in person and ask about its proxy-collection procedure. Explain whether the issue concerns the whole results session or only collection of the hardcopy documents.

SEAB’s unable-to-collect FAQ specifies a proxy aged 21 and above, an authorisation form and advance confirmation with the school.

Use the date, reporting location and collection window in the current school notice. Do not copy last year’s arrangements or assume the general office will release documents at any time.

CHAPTER 2 OF 5

Complete the correct authorisation

Open the form linked by the official FAQ or supplied by the school. Enter the required candidate and representative details accurately and follow its signature instructions.

Check whether the school needs the form in advance or requires the representative to bring the original. Ask what identification or other verification documents are necessary; the proxy FAQ confirms that verification documents are required.

If the nominated adult changes, inform the school and ask how to amend the authorisation. Avoid sending a different person with the first representative’s paperwork.

CHAPTER 3 OF 5

Give the representative a clear collection brief

Share the confirmed time, location, contact point and document list. Ask the representative to check that the documents received belong to the correct child and to keep them secure.

Arrange how the documents will reach the parent afterwards. Use a direct handover or another method agreed within the family, rather than leave examination records in a shared bag or unattended location.

If the school provides additional notices, ask the representative to collect those too. Confirm which items require the parent’s attention and whether any deadline starts from results release.

CHAPTER 4 OF 5

Manage school-selection actions separately

Authorising someone to collect documents does not by itself establish authority to submit school choices. Parents should use the current official selection procedure and clarify any question with the school.

Read the information accompanying the results and record the relevant submission dates. If the family is overseas or otherwise unavailable, prepare access and decision-making arrangements before the deadline.

Our Secondary 1 posting guide gives broader context. Follow the current MOE exercise instructions for the actual application.

CHAPTER 5 OF 5

Check the documents after collection

Review the name, identification details and results once the documents arrive. If something appears wrong, contact the school promptly about the appropriate correction procedure.

Keep the result slip, certificate and school-selection notices together. Let the child know where the documents are and explain the next steps calmly, particularly if they missed the school’s results-day briefing.

If the family later loses the results documents, use our digitised PSLE results guide. For collection itself, the most useful preparation is advance school confirmation, correct authorisation and a secure handover.
