Bus Guide | Where to Go, What to Do | Interesting Places Go-Ahead Singapore Bus Service 15 Goes To

Exterior view of Punggol bus interchange in Singapore.

Where does Go-Ahead Singapore Bus Service 15 go, and what interesting places can you visit? This service begins and ends at Pasir Ris Bus Interchange, travelling through Tampines MRT, Tampines West MRT, the gates of Temasek Polytechnic, the HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir neighbourhood, Kaki Bukit MRT, Eunos MRT, Joo Chiat Place and Telok Kurau Road, then Marine Parade MRT/Parkway Parade before returning through Eunos, Kaki Bukit, Temasek Polytechnic and Tampines to Pasir Ris. It is a useful public bus for an authorised education visit, an actual shopping or food errand at Marine Parade, or a residential/rail connection within the eastern region.

The crucial structural fact is that Bus 15 is a 32.6km Pasir Ris-origin loop, not a two-terminal service finishing at Marine Parade. It approaches the Marine Parade district near the middle of the published stop list and then travels back through different roadside stops. The shorter 15A operates weekday mornings from Pasir Ris Int to 83109 Opp Eunos Stn, ending before the Joo Chiat/Telok Kurau/Marine Parade section. A passenger headed to Parkway Parade must use full 15, not assume 15A reaches the coast.

Quick route: 77009 Pasir Ris Int → 76149 Opp Tampines Stn/Int → 75059 Bef Tampines West Stn → 75239 Temasek Poly → 72179 HomeTeamNS → 72031 Bef Kaki Bt Exit B → 83109 Opp Eunos Stn → 83151 Parkway East Hosp → 92059 Marine Pde Exit 6 → 92049 Marine Pde/Parkway Pde → 92041 Marine Pde Exit 2 → 83101 Eunos Stn → 72039 Kaki Bt Exit A → 75231 Opp Temasek Poly → 76141 Tampines Stn/Int → 77009 Pasir Ris Int. First/last at Pasir Ris: 5.45am–11pm weekdays and Saturdays, 6am–11pm Sunday/PH. The loop’s final time at Marine Parade is not the same as the last departure at Pasir Ris.

Where to alight: current official bus stop codes

The table lists Go-Ahead’s published Pasir Ris-origin sequence. The same route passes some districts twice on different road sides. A bus stop alone does not confirm an open retail outlet, authorised campus entrance, safe beach access or a current food-centre stall.

Why Bus 15 is a neighbourhood loop with one major coastal turning area

The service’s geography is easy to misread if a route map is viewed without its stop order. It begins at Pasir Ris, crosses into Tampines and then heads west across Temasek Polytechnic, Kaki Bukit and Eunos. From Joo Chiat Place it turns through Telok Kurau and reaches Marine Parade Road, then makes the return back through the same broader eastern region on other roadside stops. It is one continuous circular service, not two separate termini at Pasir Ris and Marine Parade.

That structure can be convenient for households on the roads between stations. Some travellers need Temasek Polytechnic’s gate, others a workplace at Kaki Bukit, and some a shopping or meal destination near Marine Parade MRT. A public bus serves all those purposes without each stop being a tourist attraction.

A family should not feel obliged to complete the 32.6km circuit. A short outing to a current retail or food destination is enough, and the return might sensibly be by the train rather than waiting for the remaining bus loop. The bus’s practical value depends on door-to-door access, not a wish to ride the entire route.

This is especially important for a first-time visitor who sees the number 15 both before and after the Marine Parade turn. Reading the next three stops and direction will reveal whether the vehicle is still heading towards Parkway Parade or already returning towards Eunos.

Pasir Ris Interchange is not Pasir Ris Park or Downtown East

The origin is 77009 Pasir Ris Int beside Pasir Ris MRT on the East–West Line. The first part runs through Pasir Ris Street 52 and Drive 1, serving housing blocks and the newer Tampines Avenue 12 connection. These stops are useful for residential errands and legitimate visits, but they are not directly labelled Pasir Ris Park or Downtown East.

Pasir Ris Park and Downtown East are real public leisure destinations elsewhere in the town, each with separate entrances and transport arrangements. A visitor should not assume that a bus beginning in Pasir Ris Interchange will stop at the park’s mangrove boardwalk or the Downtown East swimming complex. If one of those is the actual goal, choose the appropriate local park entrance or another service.

A family starting in Punggol would need an initial connection to Pasir Ris or another real Bus 15 stop. The service is not a Punggol MRT or Punggol Coast departure. Compare the whole trip rather than treating nearby regional place names as an automatic direct link.

For a short practical day, the Pasir Ris–Tampines portion may be enough. There is no obligation to travel through Marine Parade to make the bus ride worthwhile. The correct destination could simply be a meeting or one household purchase near an authorised stop.

Tampines MRT and the difference between passing the interchange and starting inside it

The service calls at 76149 Opp Tampines Stn/Int on the first part and 76141 Tampines Stn/Int later in the return loop. Both refer to the Tampines station and town-centre catchment, but they are roadside stops rather than the Pasir Ris-origin bus using a boarding berth inside Tampines Interchange.

This is easy to confuse when arranging to meet a child or relative. One person may wait at a rail exit, another at a bus interchange bay and a third on the roadside opposite the MRT. A clear instruction should give the five-digit stop code and a public meeting place, not merely say ‘Tampines’.

Tampines town centre includes retail, libraries, food and public facilities, all with individual operating times and visitor conditions. A shopping trip needs an actual shop or building entrance. An institutional visit may require registration. The fact that the bus passes the precinct cannot guarantee every activity is open.

On the return from Marine Parade, the stop 76141 comes relatively late in the loop. A traveller using it to go back to Pasir Ris can find that convenient, while a passenger boarding at the same place expecting an immediate ride towards Temasek Polytechnic may be choosing the wrong part of the route.

Temasek Polytechnic: direct street stops but admission depends on the event

Along Tampines Avenue 1, Bus 15 serves 75229 Temasek Poly East Gate, 75239 Temasek Poly and 75249 Temasek Poly West Gate. Temasek Polytechnic’s own Getting to TP page explicitly lists Bus 15 as one of the services serving the campus, alongside Bus 8, 23, 69, 118, 129 and 518.

This is a useful connection for a prospective student attending an approved open house, Early Admissions Exercise activity, information session or appointment. But the campus is a functioning educational institution with gates, classrooms and laboratories that may restrict entry. A bus stop name is not a public tour ticket.

Parents should ask which gate and block the official invitation specifies. The East, central and West Gate stops are not necessarily interchangeable for every faculty or visitor programme. A small amount of advance planning can prevent a long walk across an unfamiliar campus while the event is already starting.

A meaningful campus visit can involve learning about course content, prerequisites, student support and industry opportunities. It should not be judged merely by how many buildings a family sees. Record the answers supplied by the institution rather than making promises about courses based on a general bus route description.

After the event, the reverse route uses 75241 Opp Temasek Poly West G, 75231 Opp Temasek Poly and 75221 Opp Temasek Poly East G. Choose the correct stop based on the exit actually used; do not run across Tampines Avenue 1 to chase a bus.

HomeTeamNS and Bedok Reservoir: different attractions near a shared neighbourhood

The full service crosses Bedok North Road and calls at 72179 HomeTeamNS, serving the leisure and residential catchment near Bedok Reservoir. HomeTeamNS facilities may have particular admission, booking or membership arrangements. Those differ from a public park’s general access rules, so choose the actual activity before travelling.

NParks describes Bedok Reservoir Park as a 41.7-hectare landscape around a former sand quarry, with a gravel walking loop of about 4.3km. It is generally open 24 hours and includes permitted water-related activities under specific rules. But the bus’s HomeTeamNS stop does not automatically place a visitor at every reservoir deck or entrance.

If the main purpose is a public nature walk, select the actual park entrance on NParks’ map and consider whether Bedok Reservoir MRT or another bus is a better access point. A child can learn about land-use change from quarry to public reservoir without attempting the entire loop on foot.

Water safety and supervision matter even when a park is open. Do not assume swimming is permitted or a water activity is available without approved operators and suitable safety arrangements. A family outing can consist simply of a short public walk and rest.

Kaki Bukit MRT and its working business district

The outbound route serves 72031 Bef Kaki Bt Stn Exit B on Kaki Bukit Avenue 1. On the return it uses 72039 Kaki Bt Stn Exit A. Kaki Bukit is on the Downtown Line, and the surrounding streets include HDB blocks, workplaces and industrial businesses.

These stops are valuable for a legitimate appointment, class or household errand. However, an industrial stop named after a company is not an open museum. Working sites may require visitor passes, have moving vehicles or restrict pedestrian entry. Choose the actual building gate and follow the host’s instructions.

A reader may confuse Kaki Bukit with the similar road names of Bedok Reservoir and Ubi. Bus 15 reaches Kaki Bukit MRT, whereas Bus 8 uses Ubi MRT on its journey to Toa Payoh. They are different stations even though both are on the Downtown Line and relatively nearby on a map.

For someone changing trains, the exit number matters. A crossing that is easy at one station entrance may be less convenient for a pram or mobility aid. Use public signs and current access guidance rather than a shortcut through a private loading yard.

This section is also the clearest reason a traveller might choose the short 15A in weekday morning peak: it serves the route from Pasir Ris through Kaki Bukit towards Eunos, but only within its limited operating window.

15A: weekday mornings to Eunos, not Marine Parade

Go-Ahead’s Service 15 page identifies a short trip 15A from Pasir Ris Interchange to Opp Eunos Stn on Jalan Eunos. SimplyGo’s public route table lists a weekday origin first departure around 7.35am and last around 8.11am. This is not a regularly available all-day substitute for the full loop.

The 15A follows Pasir Ris and Tampines towards Temasek Polytechnic, Bedok Reservoir Road, Kaki Bukit and Eunos, then finishes at 83109 Opp Eunos Stn. It does not travel into Joo Chiat Place, Telok Kurau or Marine Parade. A passenger who needs Parkway Parade must use full 15 or a deliberate onward connection.

Reading the suffix matters because the two numbers share many early stops. Someone standing near Temasek Polytechnic could see 15A approaching and assume it reaches Marine Parade. The correct answer comes from the short-service endpoint, not the appearance of the same number before the letter.

A weekday morning commuter who only needs Eunos MRT may find 15A useful if it actually matches the journey. A family planning a Sunday shopping trip cannot rely on this weekday-only variant. Always check the current operator and live route display before boarding.

Eunos MRT and Jalan Eunos: a key turning boundary

The full outward route uses 83109 Opp Eunos Stn on Jalan Eunos. After Marine Parade it returns via 83101 Eunos Stn. Eunos MRT is EW7 on the East–West Line and is a useful point for changing to rail or reaching a local business.

The two station-side references are on different parts of the circular route. A traveller aiming for Eunos from Pasir Ris may alight at 83109 and finish. Someone aiming for Marine Parade should remain on the full service beyond Eunos. After a visit near Parkway Parade, returning to Eunos by the same bus follows a different segment with another code.

Jalan Eunos and Eunos Link contain workplaces and residential buildings with varied access conditions. A visitor should choose a complete address before deciding how far to walk from the station stop. An actual company gate may not be immediately beside the bus shelter.

This part of the route illustrates the difference between a transportation loop and a rail station: the bus can pass the same wider catchment twice on different roads, while the station remains at a fixed point. Reading the sequence is more informative than seeing only the station name on a simplified map.

Joo Chiat Place, Parkway East Hospital and Telok Kurau: not every stop is a public attraction

After Eunos the route uses Still Road, Joo Chiat Place and Telok Kurau Road. It calls at 83151 Parkway East Hosp on the first leg and later 83159 Opp Parkway East Hosp returning. These stops serve a genuine healthcare facility and nearby residential streets, but a hospital visit requires appointment, patient or authorised visitor instructions.

The district is also close to parts of the broader Joo Chiat/Katong conservation landscape. A public-street architecture walk can be a worthwhile separate activity when a family chooses its exact starting point and destination. However, private homes and healthcare buildings are not tourist attractions simply because their façades are visible from the bus.

For a learning outing, ask a child to distinguish a stop’s general name from the specific entrance of a selected building. If the destination is a hospital ward, public bookshop or retail unit, the required path will differ. The correct bus stop is the one that suits that actual purpose.

Restaurants and shops in Telok Kurau have independent operating hours. Do not promise that a chosen food outlet is open at every hour when the public bus runs. A short food outing can be completed without continuing through all the stops to Marine Parade and back.

Dunman Food Centre: a real neighbourhood meal with a date-specific closure

Dunman Food Centre is a genuine public hawker centre in the wider Joo Chiat/Marine Parade area, located at 271 Onan Road, Singapore 424768. It is not itself a named Service 15 bus stop; a visit requires checking the pedestrian route from an appropriate Telok Kurau, Joo Chiat or Marine Parade stop. Do not promise the food centre is immediately beside every bus shelter on the loop.

Important November 2026 notice: the National Environment Agency’s official cleaning schedule lists Monday, 23 November 2026 for Dunman Food Centre. A reader travelling specifically for a hawker lunch on that date could waste the trip by assuming that all the stalls are operating. Check NEA’s latest notice and the selected stall’s current hours before leaving home.

The centre has many independent vendors with different prices, rest days and sold-out periods. A food guide should not promise a famous dish at a fixed time or make unverified claims about dietary certification. Read the displayed menu and, if certification matters, check the actual current official record for the chosen stall.

A family learning about everyday Singapore can use a hawker centre to discuss budgets and neighbourhood services, but need not plan a rushed history tour as well. One confirmed meal and a comfortable return may be enough for children or older relatives.

On the return, locate the correct full Bus 15 stop before leaving the food centre. The bus moves around the Marine Parade loop and Eunos, so a same-number bus appearing in the neighbourhood could be on a different part of the circuit.

Marine Parade MRT and Parkway Parade: the clearest retail choice

The first Marine Parade-side road sequence calls at 92059 Marine Pde Stn Exit 6 and 92049 Marine Pde Stn/Parkway Pde. These are valid approaches to the Thomson–East Coast Line and public Parkway Parade shopping area. A meal, a specific shop or a verified event can make a complete short family outing.

After this part of the loop the bus calls at 92041 Marine Pde Stn Exit 2 and 92051 Exit 4 before turning back through Telok Kurau. These stops have the same station name but are different roadside locations on different portions of the route. An unwary passenger may make an unnecessary round trip by assuming the first bus seen at any Marine Parade exit heads directly to Pasir Ris.

Parkway Parade’s opening hours are not the same as those of every tenant. A booked appointment or particular restaurant requires its own current information. Likewise, a public MRT station is not necessarily the closest building entrance for a group using a stroller or wheelchair.

For a family, the main advantage is choice. Someone who wants an indoor activity can finish near the station and go home by rail or Bus 15. Someone who wants a heritage street walk must map an actual public route to the chosen Joo Chiat or Katong site rather than treating the entire district as one doorstep.

Marine Parade Road is not East Coast Park’s beachfront service road

The words Marine Parade and East Coast appear around this corridor, but the bus’s published loop travels on Marine Parade Road and Telok Kurau Road rather than inside East Coast Park’s entire coastal road system. A family intending to visit East Coast Park should first select the specific beach, playground or park section and check a permitted public approach.

NParks describes East Coast Park as a very large coastal area with numerous entrances and activity zones. Late-2026 improvement works can close a footpath or facility while the wider park remains open. A public bus stop a few streets inland does not promise that every coastal path is open or suitable for a wheelchair or pram.

Water-safety decisions are separate from transport. The presence of a beach and park opening hours do not guarantee that swimming is permitted or safe. Observe posted advisories, weather and lifeguard or park guidance where relevant. A short public walk or indoor Marine Parade outing may be the better choice.

Do not combine an unsupported beach plan with a full 32.6km bus loop simply to fill an afternoon. Choose one destination and a realistic way to return, especially when travelling with young children.

Comparing Bus 15 with Bus 8, 13, 16 and other east services

Bus 15 and Bus 8 share Temasek Polytechnic and parts of Tampines/Bedok North. But Service 8 then goes via Ubi and MacPherson Road to Toa Payoh, while 15 continues via Kaki Bukit, Eunos and Marine Parade before circling to Pasir Ris. The difference is crucial for someone deciding between the two services at a polytechnic gate.

Service 13 comes from Yio Chu Kang through Bishan, Woodleigh, Boon Keng and Eunos to Upper East Coast, using another set of eastern streets. Bus 16 serves Bedok, Marine Parade, Dakota, Suntec and Orchard on its way to Bukit Merah. Bus 15, by contrast, does not go to Suntec or Orchard and returns to Pasir Ris via the east.

An outing guide should not present one service as a universal best choice. If the family wants Parkway Parade from Pasir Ris, full 15 may be useful. If the household needs a work address at Ubi, Bus 8’s Ubi stop can be more relevant. If the destination is National Stadium, select a service with an actual stadium stop, not one that merely passes the east.

From Punggol, a separate first connection may be needed. The best first leg depends on the real housing block and chosen destination; there is no Bus 15 departure from Punggol Coast or Punggol MRT.

Practical timing, fares and the right return side

At Pasir Ris Interchange the official first/last departures are 5.45am–11pm on weekdays and Saturdays and 6am–11pm on Sundays/public holidays. Those figures describe the origin, not the last bus passing Marine Parade MRT at a particular shelter. A late retail or school activity requires checking the actual stop’s current arrival information.

SimplyGo fares depend on distance and concession eligibility, not one fixed cost for all passengers on Service 15. If the journey includes an event, meal or sports booking, that is a separate expense. Set a realistic budget before adding multiple destinations.

For someone with a wheelchair, pram or limited stamina, the full pedestrian chain matters: legal crossing, kerb, bus, station lift and destination entrance. A direct bus to a town is not the same as an accessible entrance to every business in the town.

The easiest return may be a rail transfer or another bus rather than continuing through the whole 32.6km loop. Read the correct return stop code and the remaining stop order before boarding. A child can practise identifying the route number and destination while an adult manages safety.

If the planned business or hawker centre is closed, shorten the outing or select an independently verified alternative. The purpose of a reliable guide is to save time and avoid unnecessary travel, not to make every stop an attraction.

Three workable outing plans

Temasek Polytechnic registered open house

Check the actual TP event and gate, then ride full 15 to 75229/75239/75249 according to the invitation. Use the permitted visitor entrance and plan an opposite-side bus or Tampines West MRT return. Avoid wandering into campus classrooms without authorisation.

Marine Parade MRT and Parkway Parade afternoon

From Pasir Ris or an intermediate route stop, take full 15 to 92059 Exit 6 or 92049 Parkway Parade. Choose one actual operating retail or food destination. Return on the correct 92041/92051 part of the loop or an appropriate train connection; 15A does not reach this district.

Kaki Bukit/Eunos transport-learning trip

Choose a legitimate public errand or rail transfer at 72031 Kaki Bukit Exit B or 83109 Opp Eunos Stn. Compare the return station side and rail mode. A family travelling solely to a workplace needs the actual visitor gate rather than a sightseeing plan.
