ActiveSG Punggol 2027/2028 | Car-Free Game 2, Northeast Hotspots and $888 Tampines Finale

Shared pedestrian and cycling path running alongside elevated Sam Kee LRT tracks in Punggol.

Car-Free Game 2 for Punggol and Sengkang in 2027/2028: the verified 2026 MOVE&JOY challenge invited people to explore more than 50 Northeast Hotspots across Punggol, Sengkang, Tampines, Pasir Ris and Changi through walking, cycling and permitted light mobility. To contend for the 22 November final, participants needed to visit and record at least ten Hotspots with in-app photo Moments by 31 October 2026. That qualifying period and registration have closed.

The organiser’s Car-Free Game 2 guide and 2026 terms describe a 22 November, 8am Grand Final at Aeroplane Chess Courtyard, Tampines, with one advertised S$888 winner prize. SportSG’s event directory gives 484 Tampines Street 43 as the venue address. It is independently run by MOVE&JOY and is different from Punggol Sport Centre’s own 22 November opening.

  • Organiser: MOVE&JOY, independently listed by ActiveSG Circle
  • Region: Punggol, Sengkang, Tampines, Changkat, Pasir Ris and Changi
  • Qualifying: 20 September–31 October 2026, now closed
  • Method: visit at least 10 eligible Hotspots and submit correct in-app photo Moments
  • Finalists: the first 100 qualifying entrants plus organiser-managed arrangements, subject to real notification
  • Grand Final: 22 November 2026, Aeroplane Chess Courtyard near 484 Tampines Street 43
  • Prize: S$888 advertised winner cash prize, not an automatic payout
  • 2027–2028: new qualification, dates and rewards would require official announcements

The programme is meant to encourage people to discover their neighbourhoods through sustainable active travel. Even without entering the closed 2026 competition, residents can make appropriate everyday journeys while following the real safety and mobility rules.

Definition lock: Car-Free Game 2 is a mobility challenge

Car-Free Game 2 is the 2026 MOVE&JOY challenge encouraging people to explore northeast Singapore through active and permitted light mobility. It combines a location-based photo task with a finale competition.

The event appears in SportSG’s ActiveSG Circle discovery directory but is organised by MOVE&JOY, not by the Punggol public gym. Registration for the original 2026 qualifying round has already closed.

Punggol and Sengkang are genuine event regions

The organiser’s 2026 description identifies Punggol and Sengkang among the Northeast areas, along with Tampines, Changkat, Pasir Ris and Changi. Participants could discover named destinations using the event app.

This is a regional challenge, not an exclusive tournament taking place entirely inside Punggol Sport Centre. The location and movement requirements are managed through the event’s own system.

The qualifying period was 20 September to 31 October

The 2026 programme says the qualifying activity ran from 20 September through 31 October. Participants visited designated Hotspots and posted valid photo Moments through the app.

As of 5 November, that window is in the past. A new visitor should not expect an ordinary Punggol walk today to count retroactively toward the closed competition.

Registration also closed on 31 October

The organiser’s published registration period ended 31 October 2026, following a start in August. The event being visible online does not mean new participants can still qualify for the original round.

A current article should help people understand the finished qualifying process and the upcoming finale, not promise a new place after the deadline.

There were more than fifty Hotspots

MOVE&JOY described over fifty designated locations around the northeast region for players to explore. The app’s own Explore/Hotspots view provided the actual pinned locations.

A broad neighbourhood list does not identify the exact street address of every checkpoint. An old social-media recommendation should not be treated as a verified qualifying hotspot.

Use the organiser’s real map rather than make up which landmarks count for the game.

Ten submitted Moments were the core threshold

The 2026 organiser instructions explain that players needed to visit at least ten Hotspots and create corresponding in-app photo Moments by 31 October for potential finale qualification.

Simply cycling past ten locations without using the required feature would not necessarily satisfy the published rules. Actual accepted records are evaluated by the organiser.

A participant should not claim qualification solely because a phone’s general step counter shows ten journeys.

The first one hundred players were the main finalists

The official guide says the first one hundred participants who recorded at least ten valid Hotspot Moments qualified for the Grand Final, subject to the organiser’s accepted results and potential wildcards.

That is not a guarantee of entry for everyone who completes ten later visits, nor a permanent annual entitlement for Punggol residents. The organiser has specific confirmation and registration procedures.

Only a genuine notification should be treated as evidence of a finale place.

The scheduled final is 22 November 2026

MOVE&JOY and SportSG list a Grand Final on 22 November 2026, from around 8am, with the SportSG event listing running until noon. The actual finalist reporting instructions may be more specific.

This is a one-day upcoming event rather than a confirmed recurring November tournament. Participants should monitor possible operational amendments.

Avoid copying an old event’s day-of-week label if it conflicts with the calendar; use the exact date and organiser update.

The final is at the Aeroplane Chess Courtyard

The organiser’s current information names the Aeroplane Chess Courtyard in Tampines, and ActiveSG’s listing gives 484 Tampines Street 43, Singapore 520484 as the event address.

The area has a large aeroplane-chess ground feature, but the exact competition gates and check-in point belong to the organiser’s current instructions.

Do not send finalists to Punggol Sport Centre or a generic Tampines shopping-mall address.

The advertised cash prize is S$888

The 2026 campaign promotes S$888 for the eventual Grand Final winner. A possible prize is not a payment promised to every participant or a refund for travelling to checkpoints.

Winners must satisfy actual event rules and the organiser’s decisions. A public article should not invent results or claim a particular person already won.

A resident can enjoy active discovery without treating the prize as guaranteed income.

The final uses multiple games

The event describes a series of challenges involving skill, balance, teamwork, strategy and knowledge of sustainable mobility rules. Current promotional pages differ slightly on the stated number of games.

The detailed challenges are intentionally not all disclosed before the final. Participants should not purchase equipment for an imagined obstacle course.

Use the official finalist briefing for precise requirements instead of treating promotional language as a fixed technical manual.

Walking and running were acceptable modes

The 2026 event supports active mobility through walking and running as well as other eligible modes. Participants should move legally and observe normal public path etiquette.

A person who walked to a genuine listed hotspot could create a valid Moment under the app’s rules. General walking outside the qualifying window would not count for 2026 competition.

Choose activity appropriate to weather and individual readiness.

Cycling was an accepted way to explore

The organiser encouraged cycling to marked locations and using the app’s map to find Hotspots. Riding can be an efficient way to visit different northeastern neighbourhoods.

Cyclists must still respect pedestrian priority, actual path restrictions and safe use of crossings. The challenge is not permission to race through crowded parks.

Plan a safe lawful route and do not pursue points at the expense of other road users.

Skating and scooting appeared in the eligible modes

The official 2026 promotional material includes skating and scooting among ways to participate. These activities require suitable paths, equipment and attention to other users.

Not every public path permits every wheeled device under the same conditions. A child should not attempt a long route solely to compete with experienced adults.

Follow current LTA and path operator rules, as well as individual safety needs.

PAB, PMD and PMA were specifically addressed

The 2026 terms discuss legal use of power-assisted bicycles, personal mobility devices and personal mobility aids as eligible light-mobility modes for the challenge. These are different categories with restrictions.

A device being mentioned in a promotional event does not give the owner unlimited permission to use it on footpaths, roads or park connectors. LTA regulations still apply.

Check the specific device and permitted route before starting a journey.

Cars and public transport were not qualifying movements

The 2026 organiser terms distinguish active and micro-mobility from vehicle and mass transport for this game. Riding a bus or using a car cannot simply be recorded as cycling in the challenge.

This is different from LTA’s separate Invisible City Quest, which permits public transport as part of a broader car-lite educational activity.

Keep the rules of each named campaign separate rather than mix their accepted modes.

A photo Moment is more than a normal photo

MOVE&JOY’s instructions require using the pink camera feature in its MOVE map and posting an event Moment at a real Hotspot. Ordinary photos stored on a phone may not be the same thing.

The event also described a prescribed caption about coming car-free. Submission details should follow the actual challenge’s app workflow.

A participant cannot assume uploading any scenic photograph later automatically qualifies the checkpoint.

The app has an Explore/Hotspots view

The organiser instructs users to open Explore/Hotspots to see eligible places and navigate to their pins. It also provides a Challenges route for finding the event within the app.

This is the correct way to identify real checkpoints rather than guessing that every Punggol shopping mall, sports hall or mural counts. The list may also evolve.

Use the original 2026 instructions for historical context and a current app for any new future event.

The pink Moments button was required

The how-to guide describes a pink photo button for creating location-linked Moments. The tool is part of the official scoring workflow, so normal social-media posts do not automatically qualify.

Participants should pay attention to app permissions and the actual submitted details. A valid event record is the organiser’s determination rather than a user’s assumption.

Do not share passwords or private location data with an unofficial person offering to submit Moments for you.

The qualifying task was not a distance race

Unlike the inaugural 2025 Car-Free Game, which used a distance threshold, the 2026 version focused on visiting at least ten Hotspots and recording photos. The two editions had different rules.

An old 2025 webpage or cached sign-up form may show a 35-kilometre qualification condition that no longer describes the 2026 game.

Check the edition year before reading any required distance or prize.

The 2025 and 2026 cash prizes differ

The organiser’s earlier 2025 promotion described a different finale and S$1,888 headline prize. The 2026 Car-Free Game 2 advertises S$888.

Readers should not combine the larger historic prize with the 2026 ten-Hotspot qualification process. That creates a false impression of the current opportunity.

Use date-scoped pages and verify the actual accepted terms.

The event is supported by SG Eco Fund

MOVE&JOY’s 2026 campaign describes support from SG Eco Fund as part of its sustainable mobility effort. Support for the campaign does not mean every participant receives a government grant.

The public event remains organised by MOVE&JOY, even though SportSG lists it and government sustainability aims provide background.

Use actual organiser details for registration, finalist communication and prizes.

World Car-Free Day provides context

The September challenge began around World Car-Free Day, a global encouragement to consider walking, cycling and other alternatives to private car use.

This educational purpose can be meaningful even when someone is not competing for a finale prize. An occasional car-lite journey is not proof of a quantified personal emissions saving.

Read official LTA guidance for the wider transport context rather than invent carbon totals.

The Grand Final connects with sustainable transport

The 22 November finale is promoted in relation to sustainable transport awareness and knowledge of Singapore’s Green Plan and longer-term land transport goals.

Participants may be tested on relevant public rules or environmental knowledge, but the specific challenges and scoring belong to the organiser’s own event briefing.

A family should not treat general sustainability facts as a complete leaked game plan.

Registration was free in 2026

Both MOVE&JOY and SportSG state that the challenge had no entry fee. Free registration did not include guaranteed prize money, unrestricted app-related services or transport to every checkpoint.

The organiser still required appropriate sign-up and real qualifying activity. A payment request from a stranger promising an immediate finalist pass should be treated cautiously.

Check the original event page and known organiser contact for any suspicious message.

Participants had a minimum age condition

The 2026 sign-up terms say participants must be at least twelve years old on 1 January 2026. This is a specific edition rule and not a universal age limit for all walking and cycling in Singapore.

A parent should not enrol a younger child in the competition by borrowing an adult’s profile. Families can still enjoy appropriate car-lite recreation separately.

Use the correct participant details and respect guardian responsibilities.

Finalists receive actual organiser notifications

The official terms say accepted finalists are notified by email, mobile or both. The organiser may also identify qualifying and wildcard arrangements under its event process.

An apparent leaderboard position or unofficial screenshot does not automatically secure a place. The person needs genuine confirmation and any required wristband.

Use recognised communication channels rather than trust someone selling entry into a closed final.

Finalist wristbands cannot be transferred

The 2026 event terms require assigned coloured wristbands at the Grand Final and say they are not transferable. A finalist cannot simply send another person in their place.

This matters to anyone who has a work or family conflict on 22 November. The organiser treats non-attendance according to its rules rather than allowing casual substitutions.

Contact the event team about a real problem without making a promise of replacement eligibility.

The final challenges are not publicly revealed in advance

The rules specify that detailed Grand Final games will not be disclosed until the event. This supports fair participation and reduces the usefulness of rumours about secret obstacles.

A content creator should not invent the exact number of physical tasks or advertise equipment as compulsory without a genuine briefing.

Prepare for general safe participation and follow the organiser’s official instructions.

The finale is in Tampines, not Punggol

Punggol and Sengkang were qualifying regions, but the Grand Final venue is the Tampines Aeroplane Chess Courtyard. Discovering Hotspots near home does not make the final a home-town Punggol sports event.

Participants can plan the actual journey if accepted, while family supporters should check any published public access conditions.

Avoid treating 22 November’s separate Punggol Sport Centre opening celebration as the same event.

There are two different 22 November events

SportSG also schedules the official opening celebration of Punggol Sport Centre on 22 November 2026, with a separate free pool and gym promotion.

Car-Free Game’s final is in Tampines under MOVE&JOY. One event entry or wristband does not provide special access to the other’s activities.

A household interested in both should consider actual timing, travel and rules rather than merge the programmes.

Protecting location data matters

A location-based game can reveal travel patterns, usual routes and places visited. The app’s terms describe GPS and personal information used to administer the challenge.

Participants should understand visibility settings and avoid broadcasting their home address or a child’s precise location unnecessarily. An event’s need to verify Hotspots does not mean all personal details should be public.

Use official privacy and account-management controls and contact the organiser for data questions.

Take photos respectfully

A checkpoint photo need not identify unrelated children or expose private property. Participants can photograph themselves, an appropriate landmark or permitted equipment rather than strangers without consent.

A public game does not authorise filming inside restricted school areas, changing rooms or private businesses. The stated photo rules remain subject to ordinary law and operator restrictions.

Choose safe photo positions without obstructing pedestrians or cyclists.

The challenge should not encourage unsafe cycling

A participant chasing a leaderboard might be tempted to check a phone while riding, take a photo in the road or use an unsuitable path. Those behaviours can endanger users.

Stop in a safe permitted place before interacting with the app. A Hotspot is not a reason to ignore traffic signals, pedestrian right of way or device laws.

Sustainable travel should also be safe and considerate.

Weather can affect a car-lite journey

Heat, thunderstorms and haze are real factors in Singapore’s outdoor movement. A route across several Punggol or Sengkang sites may need pauses or changes for safety.

An older participant or person with health concerns may require a different activity or professional advice. An app challenge cannot prescribe safe exercise intensity for everyone.

A missed Hotspot is preferable to injury during severe weather.

An app problem has a legitimate support route

MOVE&JOY’s participant guidance points users to admin@movenjoy.sg for account or technical issues, including location or login problems. A public gym receptionist is not the competition’s app administrator.

Participants may encounter missing location permissions or an inaccurate GPS pin. Sharing passwords with a stranger will not solve these safely.

Use the genuine support contact and provide only information relevant to the issue.

The car-free movement can continue without contest entry

A family that missed the 2026 qualifying deadline can still enjoy lawful local walking, cycling and community paths for recreation, subject to actual conditions.

There is no need to claim points in an expired app challenge to benefit from appropriate active travel. Sustainable choices can be made independently of prizes.

Look for real current community opportunities rather than paying for a fake late competition entry.

The 2027 event requires fresh terms

If MOVE&JOY announces another Car-Free Game, its qualifying mode, Hotspot map, registration dates and cash prize could change. The 2025 and 2026 editions already illustrate differences.

An article aimed at future Punggol readers should label all historic details precisely and link to the actual new organiser notice when available.

Do not carry 2026’s ten-Hotspot rule automatically into 2027.

The 2028 edition cannot be presumed

No current 2028 competition, finale site or cash prize is confirmed by the reviewed 2026 campaign. A new year could bring another theme or different neighbourhoods.

Punggol residents can still explore appropriate active mobility while waiting for genuine updates. Movement opportunities do not depend on a tournament.

A trustworthy guide avoids invented dates, participant rankings and promised payouts.

Why the actual Hotspot pins mattered

A Punggol resident might think any familiar waterfront, mall or playground would count towards the competition. Yet the 2026 game required visiting the destinations designated in MOVE&JOY’s own Hotspots list.

The app supplied the pins and a discovery function. An unrelated landmark photograph could be attractive without being eligible, so the specific map was necessary for accurate scoring.

When researching any later edition, check its current map rather than copy assumptions from an old list.

A route can be designed without racing

Exploring several genuine Hotspots can be a pleasant neighbourhood activity when planned with suitable travel conditions. There is no reason to speed through a crowded park or force companions to follow an unsafe route.

Participants should consider public path widths, rest opportunities, weather and the actual distance between locations. The game’s goal does not justify ignoring pedestrian right of way.

The best car-lite journey is one that is safe and appropriate for everyone involved.

A qualifying photo is not permission to enter private property

Some attractive landmarks sit near housing blocks, schools or shops with their own access conditions. The event’s app pin does not grant the participant entry into restricted rooms or behind barriers.

A photo can often be taken from an appropriate public position without exposing another person’s home or personal information.

Follow posted local rules and avoid trespassing merely to get closer to the pin.

The app’s photo feature should be used carefully

Location-based photo submissions can create a trail of where a participant travelled and when. The published rules require specific data for the challenge, but public sharing of all that information is a different matter.

Review the app’s real privacy notice, what a Moment reveals, and whether other people are visible in the image. The participant should understand the consequences of posting.

Do not photograph a child or stranger unnecessarily just to prove a checkpoint.

Children younger than the event minimum can still enjoy walking

The 2026 participation terms set a minimum age of twelve as of 1 January 2026. This is a competition eligibility condition, not a ban on family strolls or appropriate cycling by younger children.

A parent with a younger sibling can still explore lawful public places without attempting to register the child using somebody else’s account.

Match participation to the published age rules and keep ordinary family recreation separate.

A valid Moment does not guarantee top-one-hundred ranking

Reaching ten valid check-ins was a threshold, while the organiser’s rules referred to the first one hundred qualified participants and additional authorised wildcard arrangements. The timing and validity of submitted Moments matter.

A player should wait for real confirmation rather than assume that completing the minimum automatically earned a Grand Final wristband.

An unofficial screenshot or message from a friend is not equivalent to an accepted finalist notification.

The 2026 prize is not the old 2025 prize

The inaugural 2025 game publicised S$1,888 and different distance-based entry conditions. In 2026 the promoted winner award is S$888 after Hotspot photo qualification.

Readers can easily encounter both versions in search results, especially where old pages remain indexed. Combining their rules creates a misleading promise.

Always identify the edition year when describing entry, prizes and final venue.

Game changes should come from MOVE&JOY

A finalist might see different descriptions of how many activities are planned, because promotional pages use slightly different numbers. Detailed contest rules and final instructions are controlled by the actual organiser.

It would be misleading to advertise a particular obstacle, quiz question or physical challenge that has not been confirmed by the event team.

Follow the current briefing and accept that some activities are intentionally unrevealed until the day.

Spectator access should be confirmed

The Tampines finale is promoted as a community event, but the participants’ game space, wristband access and other public areas may have different rules. A spectator cannot assume the right to enter the official playing area.

Families who wish to cheer should check the organiser’s live information about permitted viewing and any relevant capacity conditions.

Respect staff directions and keep access clear for participants and nearby residents.

The Aeroplane Chess ground is an ordinary neighbourhood attraction too

The decorated chess courtyard between the Tampines North blocks has been described in local guides as a giant outdoor board-game installation. It is a real place independent of the 2026 tournament.

The use of that area for a scheduled competition does not mean the location becomes permanently reserved for MOVE&JOY, or that the same event returns there in 2027.

Distinguish a public landmark from the actual date-scoped event occupying it.

Car-Free Game 2 is separate from Invisible City Quest

LTA’s 2026 World Car-Free Day information promotes its Invisible City Quest, an independent location-based experience under CrowdTaskSG that can include walking, cycling and public transport.

That is different from MOVE&JOY’s qualifying rules, which exclude mass transport as a competition mobility mode. The two events have separate apps and rewards.

Do not use a CrowdTaskSG check-in as proof of completing a MOVE&JOY Hotspot Moment.

Supporters should distinguish sponsorship from entry

SG Eco Fund support relates to the campaign’s sustainability objectives. This is not an individual government grant or proof that SportSG has organised every part of the competition.

A participant could support the environmental idea without being a finalist, and an advertiser could not promise a winner place merely because it supports green travel.

Use accurate organiser and sponsor labels when sharing information.

The finale is not an ActiveSG gym promotion

MOVE&JOY’s competition is in Tampines, while the official opening of ActiveSG Punggol Sport Centre is also scheduled for 22 November 2026. Each has its own venue and programme rules.

A finalist wristband does not automatically include pool or gym services beyond the separate SportSG opening-day public announcement. Conversely, a free Punggol gym visit is not a Car-Free Game qualifier.

Plan whichever event genuinely interests the household without combining their registration systems.

A 2027 event could change its geography

The 2026 challenge focused on the Northeast region, including Punggol and Sengkang. A future competition could feature another region, more Hotspots or a revised app workflow.

It would therefore be speculative to promise that 2027 participants must visit the same ten locations or use the same Tampines final site.

Update the article only from real organiser announcements and current eligibility guidance.

An everyday car-lite habit needs no cash prize

Even after the competition closes, suitable walking or cycling can remain an enjoyable way to reach nearby services or discover a green path. The personal value does not depend on leaderboards.

A family can choose transport modes that fit health, weather, safety and other real needs without pretending all journeys must be car-free.

Sustainable movement works best when it is practical, informed and respectful of other people.

Your next step

If you already received an official finalist notification, verify the current 22 November Aeroplane Chess Courtyard instructions and assigned wristband requirements. If you missed the closed 2026 qualifying period, continue safe lawful car-lite recreation and check MOVE&JOY for any genuine later edition, without assuming new registration is open.

Reviewed 5 November 2026. The 2026 ten-Hotspot task, closed 31 October qualifier, advertised S$888 prize and 22 November Tampines final come from current organiser and SportSG information. Details can change; no 2027–2028 entry, score or prize is invented.
