Bus Guide | Where to Go, What to Do | Interesting Places SBS Transit Bus Service 114 Goes To

Where does SBS Transit Bus Service 114 go, and what interesting places can you visit? Service 114 runs from Buangkok Bus Interchange through Buangkok Square, Fernvale’s shopping and hawker-centre neighbourhood, Sengkang West Road and Yio Chu Kang Road to Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange. Its most useful outings are a meal and errand at Buangkok Square, a visit to The Seletar Mall or Fernvale Hawker Centre, and a booked sporting session near Yio Chu Kang MRT.

The important late-night trap is 114A. Full Service 114 leaves Buangkok towards Yio Chu Kang only up to the normal 11.30pm last departure in SBS Transit’s route table. SimplyGo’s timetable shows departures from Buangkok as late as 12.35am, but explicitly notes that after 11.30pm buses operate as 114A. That shorter bus stops at 66561 Blk 991B, Buangkok Link; it does not reach Fernvale or Yio Chu Kang. The 114A also has certain weekday peak operations, so read the displayed number.

Quick summary: SBS Transit 114 — 63009 Buangkok Int → 67601 Buangkok Stn Exit B → 66571 Buangkok Sq → 67489 Opp Fernvale Stn → 67631 Blk 441D → 67039 Aft Seletar Rd → 55189 Yio Chu Kang Stn → 55509 Yio Chu Kang Int. Full route ~11.1km. Fernvale’s hawker centre has a published NEA cleaning closure on 23–25 November 2026. Choose the exact destination and final footpath rather than promising that every outlet is immediately outside a bus stop.

Bus service at a glance: route and practical facts

  • Operator: SBS Transit; two terminals at Buangkok Int (63009) and Yio Chu Kang Int (55509).
  • Updated origin: Buangkok Int is beside Buangkok MRT NE15, opened as an integrated transport hub in December 2024; not Sengkang Int 67009.
  • Published full 114 hours: first bus 5.30am, last full service 11.30pm at both terminals, every day according to the operator.
  • Late short trips: after 11.30pm, Buangkok departures are numbered 114A and terminate at Blk 991B (66561), not Yio Chu Kang; the public eGuide shows an overall last Buangkok departure of 12.35am including the short runs.
  • Route: 11.1km outward via Buangkok Drive/Crescent/Link, Fernvale LRT and Sengkang West Road, ending near the Yio Chu Kang sports precinct.
  • Buangkok Square: stop 66571; mall at Block 991 Buangkok Link, not Sengkang Grand Mall at Buangkok MRT.
  • Fernvale LRT SW5: stop 67489 Opp Fernvale Stn outward, 67481 Fernvale Stn/Blk 439A returning.
  • Fernvale Hawker Centre: 21 Sengkang West Avenue at Fernvale Community Club; NEA lists cleaning 23–25 November 2026.
  • Yio Chu Kang Sport Centre: at 200 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9, beside the MRT and bus interchange. Pool, courts and stadium have distinct availability.

Which stop to use: actual published bus-stop codes

Read the five-digit number and direction before boarding. A shelter near a shopping centre, community club, sports venue or park is not the same thing as its entrance. Check public crossings, opening conditions and the return stop.

The two names Buangkok and Sengkang do not indicate the same interchange

Service 114 begins at 63009 Buangkok Interchange on Sengkang Central. This is the integrated hub next to Buangkok MRT and Sengkang Grand Mall, not Sengkang Bus Interchange beside Sengkang MRT. Confusing the two names can make a family start from the wrong town-centre precinct.

The route’s first stop after the bus interchange is 67601 Buangkok Stn Exit B, then it travels on Buangkok Drive and enters Buangkok Crescent. That is why the bus is useful for households whose final destination is a neighbourhood shop or housing block rather than the major MRT station itself. The road network serves people between rail stops.

A passenger from Punggol must still decide how to reach an actual 114 boarding location. No 114 berth exists at Punggol MRT or Punggol Coast. A transfer through Sengkang or Buangkok might be convenient, but it should be checked from the precise starting address.

Choose the exact meeting point if two people are arriving by different modes. ‘Buangkok’ may refer to the MRT exit, bus interchange, adjacent mall, a street in the housing estate or Buangkok Square farther away. A reliable itinerary names the specific building and stop.

Buangkok Square: a different mall from the MRT-integrated shopping complex

After turning into Buangkok Crescent, the outward 114 stops at 66571 Buangkok Sq. HDB identifies Buangkok Square’s shopping centre at Block 991 Buangkok Link, Singapore 530991, with food, basic shopping and enrichment businesses. This is a useful public neighbourhood destination but is not the same building as Sengkang Grand Mall at Buangkok MRT.

A modest outing can include a meal and a needed grocery item, a scheduled course or an ordinary visit with a family member living near Buangkok Link. For a particular shop, check its actual operating hours and unit, because the existence of the shopping centre does not guarantee every tenant is available.

The bus then passes blocks 986B and 984, turning to 66561 Blk 991B and onward towards Fernvale. The location of this stop is particularly important because 114A terminates here. It is still within the Buangkok estate, not the start of the Yio Chu Kang corridor.

On return from Yio Chu Kang the bus serves other Buangkok stops including 66589 Buangkok Sports Pk. A named sport-park stop can be useful for public neighbourhood recreation, but check the specific facility and route rather than promising a freely available court or an all-ages activity.

Respect residents when visiting a housing district. A stop named after an HDB block is public transport information, not a reason to enter private residential facilities or treat school gates as visitor attractions.

Fernvale: The Seletar Mall, Fernvale Community Club and a real hawker centre

Service 114’s outbound loop serves 67489 Opp Fernvale Stn and 67631 Blk 441D in the Fernvale LRT area. The Seletar Mall officially lists its address as 33 Sengkang West Avenue, Singapore 797653, beside Fernvale LRT SW5. This provides a natural reason for a short outing: food, everyday shopping or an authorised class.

Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market is a separate destination at 21 Sengkang West Avenue, Singapore 797650, housed within Fernvale Community Club. It offers a public hawker food environment. A meal there is a different visit from shopping at The Seletar Mall; check which entrance, food stall and operating time actually suits the group.

Important future closure: NEA’s current cleaning schedule lists 23–25 November 2026 for Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market. The rest of the Fernvale neighbourhood may still be accessible during cleaning, but a family should not plan a guaranteed hawker meal at a closed centre. Check the latest NEA notice before travelling on those days.

The community club offers its own programmes, with registration and eligibility conditions. Do not mistake the market’s regular use of the community building for public access to every club room or class. A simple mall-and-meal visit can be successful without paying for an event.

On the reverse direction from Yio Chu Kang, Service 114 stops at 67481 Fernvale Stn/Blk 439A. Note that the stop code differs from the outbound 67489. A small error in choosing the road side can create unnecessary walking after a meal or shopping trip.

Yio Chu Kang Road: understand the difference between a housing corridor and an aerospace park

Beyond Fernvale, the service passes 67999 Blk 461B and joins Sengkang West Road, then Yio Chu Kang Road. It has stops at 67039 Aft Seletar Rd, 67029 Aft Dedap Rd and 67019 Aft Begonia Rd. These serve residential streets and employment areas before the route reaches Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.

The presence of the word Seletar in an adjacent road name does not mean Bus 114 enters Seletar Aerospace Park, The Oval or Hampstead Wetlands Park. Those attractions have separate public entrances and are served by other routes. Do not ask a driver to alight at a non-existent stop or attempt to cut through private property to reach an attraction on a map.

The Yio Chu Kang business corridor includes named stops for ST Engineering and NCS. Those are important workplaces, not casual attractions. Anyone attending an interview, meeting or appointment should confirm the employer’s permitted visitor gate, whether identification is required and the accessible path from the selected stop.

An ordinary residential visit can be a legitimate reason to use the service. The bus exists to connect neighbourhoods, not only to entertain visitors. People with luggage or mobility aids may particularly value a road-side stop, but the whole pedestrian route still needs to be checked.

Compare the remaining journey and the nearest rail station before deciding on a very long detour. A trip between Buangkok MRT and Yio Chu Kang MRT may be possible by bus, but the fastest door-to-door choice depends on traffic, waiting, transfers and the walking leg.

Yio Chu Kang: the station and sports precinct are a practical endpoint

The full 114 serves 55189 Yio Chu Kang Stn and terminates at 55509 Yio Chu Kang Int. The nearby North South Line provides rail connections, while Sport Singapore lists Yio Chu Kang Sport Centre at 200 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9, with daily operating hours generally 7am–10pm and facilities subject to separate booking and closure notices.

For a family, the outing might be a scheduled badminton session, tennis lesson or running programme rather than a general sightseeing trip. Check the specific facility, admission, coaching or court booking. A bus arriving at the interchange does not guarantee that every facility in a sport centre is available.

Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex is a separate facility at 202 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9. It normally closes Thursday for maintenance except the stated public-holiday exception. The pool, sport hall and stadium each have different operating conditions, so check the correct facility page before packing equipment.

A student visiting Nanyang Polytechnic in this precinct must also use the authorised campus entrance and current visitor directions. The university/polytechnic campus, sport centre and MRT interchange are three different destinations even if they are close together.

For the return, use the Yio Chu Kang-to-Buangkok Service 114 and confirm the direction and stop. A full origin last bus at Yio Chu Kang is shown as 11.30pm; that does not imply every intermediate Fernvale shelter has a bus departing at that time.

The crucial 114A short trip: why the published 12.35am last bus is not a full Yio Chu Kang service

SBS Transit’s full 114 route page lists a last 11.30pm departure from Buangkok to Yio Chu Kang. The SimplyGo eGuide gives 12.35am as the final bus at Buangkok, but includes the explicit note that after 23:30 departures operate as 114A. These are not contradictory if the latter includes short-route buses: the later departure does not continue beyond Buangkok Link.

Service 114A begins at 63009 Buangkok Int and ends at 66561 Blk 991B, Buangkok Link. A person heading to Fernvale or Yio Chu Kang late at night should not mistake 114A for a direct service, even if the wait display includes a favourable bus numbered 114A.

The SBS 114A route also shows additional peak-period departures on weekdays, so it is not accurate to say it operates exclusively late at night. The safe rule is simple: read the displayed suffix and endpoint whenever it appears and confirm that your chosen destination stop falls within that particular run.

If you are returning after a late sport event at Yio Chu Kang, check the actual Yio Chu Kang departure and available alternatives. The 12.35am short-run note applies to Buangkok-origin 114A, not a guaranteed full trip from the other terminal.

This is the general lesson of service suffixes: the letter can change the destination and length of the route. Learning that habit helps families avoid a problem that an ordinary list of bus stop names might not reveal.

Which route should a family choose for the shortest useful outing?

A family who wants one indoor meal or shopping trip could choose Buangkok Square or The Seletar Mall. A person going to Fernvale Community Club should check the exact organised programme and booking conditions. For an authorised sport activity, the Yio Chu Kang endpoint is useful only when the facility is actually open.

These are three different intentions. Building a full itinerary around all three may waste time, especially if children are tired or heavy purchases make a long return inconvenient. Choose the purpose before boarding, then find the most suitable stop and a backup option.

The service is also one of several northeast connections. Someone starting from Punggol Coast may prefer another route to Fernvale or Yio Chu Kang instead of first travelling to Buangkok Interchange. Compare actual origin, last-mile walk, live departures and available modes.

Respect public access conditions along the route. A shopping mall permits ordinary customers, but a private workplace, school or some community rooms may not be open to unscheduled visitors. A named bus stop does not turn all nearby property into a public attraction.

A clear plan is an enjoyable plan: one main destination, the correct stopping point, a comfortable walking route, and a reliable way home. That is enough for a useful local bus outing.

Three realistic outings

Buangkok Square meal and local errand

Start at Buangkok Int (63009), alight at 66571 Buangkok Sq and use the safe path to 991 Buangkok Link. Have one meal or complete a household purchase at an open retailer. Return from a correct stop on the reverse route, rather than staying on the entire Yio Chu Kang journey.

Fernvale market, mall and one clear destination

Use 114 towards Yio Chu Kang to 67489 Opp Fernvale Stn or 67631 Blk 441D, then choose either The Seletar Mall (33 Sengkang West Avenue) or Fernvale Hawker Centre (21 Sengkang West Avenue). The market has NEA cleaning 23–25 November 2026; check that before a food outing.

Booked Yio Chu Kang sport session

Confirm an actual available ActiveSG facility, then take full Service 114 to Yio Chu Kang Int 55509 or station-side 55189. Follow public wayfinding to the proper court or pool entrance and return before the activity and bus schedules become inconvenient.

Mistakes worth avoiding

  • Wrong last bus interpretation: 12.35am at Buangkok includes 114A; full 114 to Yio Chu Kang stops departing at 11.30pm.
  • Wrong destination of 114A: it terminates at Blk 991B (66561), not Fernvale or Yio Chu Kang.
  • Wrong Buangkok mall: Buangkok Square at 991 Buangkok Link is separate from Sengkang Grand Mall at Buangkok MRT.
  • Fernvale cleaning: NEA lists 23–25 November 2026, which may affect a planned hawker meal.
  • Wrong Fernvale side: 67489 outward and 67481 returning have different codes.
  • Seletar confusion: Bus 114’s Yio Chu Kang Road corridor is not a ride to public attractions inside the aerospace park.
  • Wrong sports assumption: a Yio Chu Kang sport centre stop does not guarantee a booked court or open swimming complex.
  • Workplace permissions: an industrial stop does not grant access to ST Engineering or other secure businesses.
