Lost Uniform, Books or School Bag in Punggol: Replacing School Items Fast

Student in a blue pinafore stands beside a planter with a white bag and a hand beside the face.

Lost uniform, books or a school bag in Punggol? If a concession card was inside, block it first in the SimplyGo app or on 6883 5048. Then call SBS Transit Lost & Found on 6383 7211 for buses, the North East Line and the Punggol LRT. Replacement uniforms and books come through the school.

It happens to almost every family at some point. A few calls today usually sort most of it out.

This page is part of eduKate Punggol’s When You Need Help in Punggol, our practical guides for life’s occasions, big and small. It covers replacing lost school items fast: who to call for transport lost-and-found, checking with the police, blocking and replacing a student concession card, getting new uniforms and books through school, and help if the cost is a strain.

Quick answer

  • Concession card in the bag? Block it straight away in the SimplyGo app, or call the SimplyGo Hotline on 6883 5048 (8am to 6pm daily, closed on public holidays).
  • Left on a bus, NEL train or the Punggol LRT: SBS Transit Lost & Found, 6383 7211, during operating hours, or its online Lost Articles Report form.
  • Still missing: check with the police Found & Unclaimed Property Office on 6842 9645, and file a Lost Property Report online. If you think it was stolen, make a police report instead.
  • Uniforms and textbooks: replace them through your child’s school bookshop or uniform vendor. Tell the form teacher.
  • If cost is a strain: MOE’s Financial Assistance Scheme gives free textbooks and uniforms to families with a gross household income of $4,000 or less, or a per capita income of $1,000 or less.

What to Do First About a Lost Uniform or School Bag

There is no single official procedure for lost school items, so work through these in order. The card comes first because it holds money.

  1. Block the concession card if it was lost too. SimplyGo says to block it “immediately” in the app if it is registered there. If not, call the SimplyGo Hotline on 6883 5048 to report the loss and prevent misuse.
  2. Retrace the day with your child. Ask calmly where they last remember having it: classroom, CCA venue, canteen, bus, LRT, playground or the void deck.
  3. Call SBS Transit while services are running. Its Lost & Found line, 6383 7211, works during bus and train operating hours. You can also use the online Lost Articles Report form.
  4. Ask the school. Call or visit the general office, message the form teacher, and ask whether anything has been handed in.
  5. Check with the police. Contact the Found & Unclaimed Property Office on 6842 9645 or FUPO@spf.gov.sg, or check SPF’s list of property handed in. File a Lost Property Report online for items not lost through crime.
  6. If you suspect theft, lodge a police report instead of a lost property report.
  7. Replace in order of urgency: tomorrow’s uniform, the concession card, then books and the bag.

Which Situation Fits You

The bag was left on a bus or the LRT

Call SBS Transit on 6383 7211 as soon as you can, while services are still running. Give the bus service number or the train line, the direction, the rough time, and a description of the bag and what was in it. If you prefer, file the online form instead.

The student concession card is gone

After blocking it, apply for a new one on SimplyGo’s online Lost Concession Card Replacement page, which has a separate form for the School Smart Card. You collect the replacement at a SimplyGo Kiosk or a SimplyGo Ticketing Service Centre. SimplyGo says the new card is printed with the same photo as the original.

A uniform, PE shirt or CCA kit is missing

Uniforms are school-specific and sold through each school’s vendor, so ask the general office where to buy them and when the vendor is open. A preloved clothes swap can be a good source of a spare set. Our school clothing guide covers what each child needs.

Textbooks or workbooks are lost

Books also come through the school bookshop or vendor. Tell the teacher straight away, so they know a replacement is on the way. For a one-off forgotten book, our guide to a child forgetting a school book has calm ideas.

You think it was stolen

SPF’s lost property report is only for items not lost through crime. If you believe the bag was taken, lodge a police report instead, and call 999 if anyone is in danger.

It happened during the holidays

School office hours can differ in the holidays (Punggol View Primary, for example, lists 8am to 5pm), so call before you go. Use the break to replace things calmly before the new term rather than the night before.

Costs, Refunds and Financial Help

  • Replacement concession card: SimplyGo says a card replacement fee applies. It does not publish the amount on the pages we checked, so ask when you apply.
  • Money on the lost card: the remaining balance and the pro-rated value of any Monthly Concession Pass are refunded to a bank account or another SimplyGo card, not moved to the new card. SimplyGo says all refunds take six working days.
  • Auto Top-up cards: once reported lost, the report cannot be cancelled, even if the card turns up.
  • Buying a new pass: SimplyGo lists student passes at $24 (primary) or $29 (secondary) for bus, $21 or $26.50 for train, and $39 or $49 for hybrid. The card must be activated and valid before you buy a pass. These prices may change, so check live.
  • Uniforms and books: prices vary by school and vendor.

MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS): from 2026, MOE widened the income criteria to a gross household income of $4,000 or less, or a per capita income of $1,000 or less. FAS covers full school fee subsidies, free textbooks and uniforms, meal subsidies, a 70% school bus subsidy for primary pupils and a $21 monthly public transport subsidy. Families apply through the HOMES system, and MOE says most applicants no longer need to submit supporting documents. MOE adds that schools and social service agencies also help Singaporean students who do not qualify. Check with the school or MOE for the criteria in 2027.

Neighbour’s Tips

  • Block first, replace second. A blocked card cannot be misused, and you can sort out the rest calmly.
  • Do not buy another pass for the lost card. The unused value is refunded to you, so wait for the replacement.
  • Save two numbers in your child’s phone: SBS Transit Lost & Found, 6383 7211, and the SimplyGo Hotline, 6883 5048.
  • Label everything. A name and class written inside a bag, on books and on uniform tags gives a finder a way to return it.
  • Lost and stolen are different routes. Use a police report, not a lost property report, if you suspect theft.
  • Ask quietly about FAS. If replacing everything at once is hard, the school can tell you whether you qualify under the wider 2026 income limits.
  • Keep a small spare. One extra set of uniform, bought second-hand, takes the panic out of the next lost item.

If It’s Urgent

If your child is stranded on the way to school without a card or money, tell them to wait somewhere safe and call you, and contact the school yourself. Call 999 only if your child is in danger. If the bag was snatched or someone threatened your child, call 999 and then lodge a police report.
