Childminders under ECDA’s Childminding Pilot must complete mandatory training before deployment. ECDA identifies infant first aid, food safety and preparation, and infant-care skills as required areas.
For Punggol parents considering the pilot, ask the appointed operator how it confirms the proposed caregiver has met these requirements. A provider’s general description does not identify the training of the individual offered to your family.
Confirm that the booking is actually under the pilot. This guide does not certify any named childminder or establish that a provider has a place available in Punggol.
CHAPTER 1 OF 3
Start with the pilot-specific requirements
Read ECDA’s mandatory-training FAQ. Its answer concerns childminders deployed under the pilot.
ECDA’s skills FAQ also places responsibility on appointed operators to ensure basic training and practical infant-care skills.
CHAPTER 2 OF 3
Ask about the proposed caregiver
Useful questions include what training the caregiver has completed and how the operator supports them in day-to-day care. Ask whom you should contact when you have a question about an arrangement.
You can also explain your infant’s routine and ask how the caregiver would handle the handover. This is a practical conversation, not an informal examination or a substitute for operator verification.
CHAPTER 3 OF 3
Clarify the arrangement before booking
If the person providing care changes, ask the operator to explain the replacement arrangement. Record the contact person, agreed schedule and any unanswered questions.
For the application route, see registering for the Childminding Pilot. Training requirements and booking availability are separate questions.
Information checked on 18 October 2026. Confirm current pilot requirements, availability and the details of your arrangement with the appointed operator.
