SIT’s Peer Supporters Programme involves trained students with professional guidance, offering fellow students a route to conversation and information about support.
For enquiries about speaking to a peer supporter or joining the programme, SIT publishes DI@singaporetech.edu.sg. Ask the team about current arrangements before assuming a walk-in session at Punggol Campus.
Peer support and professional counselling are different routes. You can ask which service fits the conversation you want to have; this guide does not assess your needs or promise a particular outcome.

What the programme offers
The official Student Wellness page describes training, listening and ongoing professional guidance for peer supporters.
A first enquiry can be simple: explain that you would like to understand how to speak with a supporter. You do not need to place a detailed personal account in a public comment to ask about the process. Use the university’s official contact for the next step.
Questions before a peer conversation
Ask how a conversation is arranged, whether it is online or in person, and what to expect. Request clarification about privacy and the circumstances in which another service may be involved; do not assume those terms from the phrase “peer support.”
As practical preparation, think about what you would like help understanding. That might be the available university support routes or a situation you want to talk through. These are preparation suggestions, not a requirement to explain everything in advance.
Joining as a peer supporter
If you want to take part as a supporter, use the same published enquiry email and make your intention clear.
Ask about recruitment dates, eligibility, training, time commitments and supervision. Enquiring is not confirmation of a place, and being interested in supporting friends is not the same as completing the programme’s training. Wait for the university’s current instructions before describing yourself as a programme participant.
Professional support is a separate option
If you would prefer a professional conversation, ask the university which service to contact and how to arrange it. Choosing peer support does not prevent you from asking about a different support route.
For the separate appointment service, read our SIT counselling guide. If a meeting is arranged on campus, confirm the location with the team instead of assuming all support services share one reporting point.
