Checking traffic before driving from Punggol? Start with LTA’s OneMotoring Traffic Cameras service and select a camera relevant to your intended route. Confirm the camera’s location and direction before using the image to make a travel decision.
A traffic-camera image shows a limited view at a particular point. It cannot establish that every road between your Punggol home and destination is clear. Use it alongside official traffic alerts and road-closure information.
Check before you leave or when safely parked. Allow extra time for a school run, appointment or airport trip if the route looks uncertain; do not handle your phone while driving to keep refreshing images.

Choose a relevant view
Identify the expressway or road segment your trip will use and select an available camera for that segment. Check any location and direction label shown.
A camera on the opposite carriageway can describe a different journey. Do not infer your direction’s traffic solely from congestion visible elsewhere in the image.
Check the information time
Read any image timestamp or update information displayed. A saved screenshot is evidence of an earlier view, not a live view of your next journey.
If the image or update time is unavailable, treat the check as incomplete. Use other official information rather than assuming the missing view means clear traffic.
Combine cameras with alerts
OneMotoring’s traffic information tools also provide routes to traffic updates, closures and road works. Check these if you need to understand an apparent obstruction or queue.
Avoid guessing the cause from an image alone. A visible queue does not tell you how long it will last or which diversion is suitable.
Make a calm travel decision
Allow a buffer or choose a lawful alternative route before setting off. Compare the whole trip, including access to the destination and parking.
If conditions change after departure, follow road signs and authorised directions. Have a passenger check updates, or stop safely before revisiting the route.
