SIT Punggol’s Smart Playground is described as a digital interactive space for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics exploration. It connects visitors with the university’s applied research through digital and sensory experiences.
SIT’s Explore Spaces page says the space is open to the public to discover, visualise and contribute to research projects. That broad description does not provide a standing visitor timetable, admission price or current installation list.
Before planning a Smart Playground visit, confirm the activity, exact room, access arrangements and any registration with SIT or the event organiser. Do not interpret the name as a conventional children’s play area with unrestricted daily admission.

Understand the research connection
The university describes digital replication of environments at real-world scale, allowing participants to experience project scenarios as citizen scientists.
As an illustration of the idea, a digital scenario can help someone examine a research question before asking how it relates to a physical setting. This explains the concept; it does not establish which demonstration is currently installed or available.
Follow a specific event’s instructions
A named event provides more useful visiting information than a general campus description. Look for the organiser, date, session time, audience and room code together.
Our SITizen Day 2026 guide includes an event using Smart Playground 1. Its arrangements apply to that event, not automatically to other rooms, activities or future dates.
Check suitability before bringing children
Ask whether a proposed activity is suitable for your child’s age, whether an adult must accompany them and how long the session lasts. The term “playground” alone does not answer those questions.
If the experience involves participation in research, read the organiser’s information about what participants will do. Ask for clarification before agreeing to an activity you do not understand.
Confirm the room before travelling
Use the latest event confirmation or university response to identify the destination. Keep the block, level and room name accessible; a campus-wide map is only the first part of the journey.
Our SIT Punggol transport guide can help with arrival. If you have no confirmed activity, ask about available opportunities before making a trip specifically for the Smart Playground.
