Checking a business before paying for a service in Punggol? Ask for the exact entity name and Unique Entity Number, or UEN, then use ACRA’s Bizfile Entity search. It provides basic information such as an entity’s status and registered address.
For a Punggol repair, delivery or household-service quotation, compare the entity record with the name and UEN on the written quote or invoice. A trading label, social-media page and registered entity can have different names; ask the supplier to explain the relationship clearly.
A live business record does not guarantee good workmanship, prove the person messaging you represents that business, or confirm a specialist licence. Treat the UEN check as one identity check alongside a written scope, verified contact details and any relevant trade-specific registration.

Search the exact name or UEN
On Bizfile, choose Entity and enter the business name or UEN. ACRA’s guide describes filters for exact names, names beginning with specified text and UENs, including previous UENs.
Use the filters when similar names appear. Do not select the first plausible result and assume it belongs to the supplier; compare the identifiers carefully.
Read the entity profile
ACRA directs users to More information for the entity profile. Check the name, status and registered address displayed, and resolve unexplained differences with the supplier.
A registered address may differ from a shop or service location. Ask about the difference instead of treating it automatically as either proof of fraud or proof that everything is acceptable.
Separate registration from licence claims
If the quote promises licensed electrical, plumbing or other regulated work, check that qualification through the responsible regulator. A business identity record answers a different question.
Likewise, UEN and GST registration are different checks. Our Punggol GST receipt guide covers the separate tax-registration route.
Keep the identity check with the agreement
Save the quote, entity details, scope and payment terms together. If the contracting entity or payment recipient changes, ask for an explanation before continuing.
Use independently verified contact details to clarify inconsistencies. Do not post private documents publicly to ask whether a business is genuine, and do not regard a copied Bizfile screenshot as a substitute for your own check.
