The Lim Leng Swan Home Living Lab is a SIT Punggol teaching facility for practical training in a simulated home-care environment. SIT’s campus highlights infographic identifies it among the university’s learning laboratories.
SIT describes the lab’s design as resembling an HDB flat interior, supporting case simulation for Allied Health and Nursing students. Its purpose is educational: understanding care in a home setting rather than simply studying it as an abstract classroom topic.
The Home Living Lab is not a residential flat, a public nursing home or an advertised walk-in clinic. The cited official materials do not publish general admission hours or a public tour booking route; confirm any visit or teaching session through the university.

Why simulate a home on campus?
A home presents a different setting from a hospital ward or classroom. As an illustration, discussing how someone moves through a living area is easier when the surrounding space can be considered alongside the task.
That example explains the teaching idea, not the lab’s exact equipment or a particular lesson plan. Students should follow their module’s actual activity instructions rather than assuming every home-care scenario is taught there.
Understand the lab’s name
SIT’s 3 February 2023 naming announcement says the name honours Madam Lim Leng Swan, a trained nurse and mother of the late Diana Koh. The facility’s naming was supported by an endowed gift from the Diana Koh Foundation through the Community Foundation of Singapore.
The naming announcement was issued before SIT’s move to Punggol. Read its future-tense descriptions alongside the later campus infographic, rather than treating the older article as a current visitor notice.
Prepare for an assigned session
Check your timetable, room instructions and any preparation set by the teaching team. A campus facility name is not a substitute for the exact block and room code.
If a learning activity uses simulation, clarify your role, the task and how the session will be reviewed. Do not enter an unscheduled class or use equipment simply because the lab appears in a campus guide.
Choose the right university route
For an arranged demonstration, teaching enquiry or collaboration, ask SIT which team is responsible and what access conditions apply. Do not assume public access elsewhere on campus extends to every laboratory.
For the broader setting, continue with our SIT Punggol guide. The useful distinction is between seeing a university campus and taking part in an authorised learning activity.
