Preschool withdrawal notice periods depend on the centre’s terms. ECDA says these terms should have been shared at enrolment and directs parents to contact their preschool for details.
Before withdrawing from a Punggol preschool, find the agreement and ask the centre to confirm the required notice, withdrawal date and final charges. Do not assume every centre requires the same period.
Keep withdrawal terms separate from subsidy rules. A notice period does not, by itself, tell you the subsidy amount or whether a deposit will be returned.
CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Find the terms you received
Use ECDA’s notice-period guidance as the starting point. Check the centre’s own enrolment documents.
Ask staff for a copy if you cannot locate them. Read the actual wording rather than relying on another parent’s recollection.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
Confirm how notice must be given
As practical questions, ask whether a particular form or written message is needed and how the centre records receipt. Request confirmation of the effective withdrawal date.
Avoid assuming a casual conversation completed the required procedure. Keep the relevant acknowledgement.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Request the final fee explanation
Ask the centre to identify programme fees, notice-related charges and deposit treatment separately. This guide does not establish a universal refund entitlement.
If a figure is unclear, ask which agreement term explains it. Resolve that specific point before relying on an estimated final balance.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
Coordinate the next arrangement
If transferring, confirm the receiving centre’s place and start arrangements separately. Do not assume the first centre’s withdrawal automatically completes a new enrolment.
Keep both centres’ confirmations and check any separate subsidy application requirements. Clear dates help prevent gaps in the family’s childcare plan.
