The island-wide Coffee with a Cop initiative was launched at One Punggol on 17 June 2023. Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean attended the event, held alongside the return of the Police Community Roadshow. This gives One Punggol a specific place in Singapore’s community-policing history.
Coffee with a Cop was designed for informal conversations between residents and community policing officers over a drink. It followed a 2022 trial at three neighbourhood police centres; the nationwide launch in Punggol was a later stage, not the beginning of every trial session.
For readers searching One Punggol history, the June 2023 police roadshow or when Coffee with a Cop began, the important dates are the earlier trial and the 17 June national launch. The roadshow itself ran at One Punggol over 17–18 June before moving to Toa Payoh the following weekend.

The SPF’s launch announcement identifies the three trial centres as Sengkang, Geylang and Bukit Timah. It dates the trial from June 2022.
That geographical detail matters: hosting the national launch does not mean Punggol was one of the trial centres. Local history is clearer when it distinguishes where a programme was tested from where it was formally expanded.
The announcement described monthly sessions at selected food-and-beverage establishments, with individual NPCs publicising their arrangements. This records the rollout announced in 2023, rather than a current schedule for a particular Punggol café.
The official release describes displays of police technology and equipment, live demonstrations, band and K-9 performances, and a mock investigation activity. It also announced the MATA-verse Roblox experience as part of the roadshow.
The PMO’s record of Teo Chee Hean’s speech places the occasion within the return of community roadshows after the pandemic. It connected public safety with trust and sustained relationships between police and residents.
The programme and the roadshow had different durations. The two-day event was a temporary gathering; Coffee with a Cop was announced as a recurring initiative. An old event poster therefore should not be treated as a current programme timetable.

The launch speech describes conversations about crime trends, prevention and volunteering. It reports that more than 230 residents participated in the earlier trial, with positive feedback about getting to know neighbourhood officers.
It also recognises local Citizens on Patrol volunteers and other community contributions. The event’s historical story therefore includes everyday participation, alongside equipment displays and an official ceremony.
Our interpretation is that One Punggol served here as a civic meeting place: a venue where a national programme was introduced through local contact. That is a reading of the documented event, not evidence that the venue alone caused stronger public trust.
For the separate history of emergency-service premises, see the Punggol fire station’s 2022 official opening. A community roadshow, a policing programme and a station opening are distinct milestones.
