A child attending both an Early Intervention (EI) programme and a regular preschool may still qualify for preschool subsidies for the regular preschool component, ECDA explains.
Eligibility remains subject to the relevant conditions, including citizenship, household income and an ECDA-licensed preschool. EI attendance alone does not establish a preschool subsidy entitlement.
For Punggol families, keep the two fee questions separate: preschool subsidies concern the regular preschool component, while EI sessions have their own subsidy funding. Ask the EI centre about its fees directly.
CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Identify both programmes
Read ECDA’s combined EI and preschool subsidy guidance. Its answer does not treat the two programmes as one bill.
As practical preparation, list the centres, programme names and invoices involved. This makes it easier to direct each question to the right staff.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
Check the preschool application
Ask the regular preschool what application and eligibility checks apply to your child. Do not assume an EI approval substitutes for the preschool’s process.
Keep the preschool subsidy outcome with its invoice rather than using an unrelated EI notice to estimate the deduction.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Ask the EI centre about its account
Request the EI centre’s explanation of programme fees, subsidy assessment and your payment. Follow its own instructions for supporting information.
Do not assume the approved amount for one programme can be moved to the other or that both bills follow identical rules.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
Plan costs without guessing entitlement
Keep a simple record of each gross fee, approved support and net payment. If a figure is still pending, label it as an estimate.
If your attendance schedule changes, ask the relevant centre about programme and billing implications. Resolve the specific account question rather than treating one centre’s reply as an answer for both.
Information checked on 12 October 2026. Follow the current official instructions and the guidance given for your child’s application.
